🔆Adaleah🔆

I wiped my eyes, hearing my heels click on the floor. I don't know why I'm crying over someone that doesn't love me. Why does this hurt so much? My heart feels like someone just tore it out of my body just to laugh and play with it.

I just needed to clear my head before I go back to the castle for tonight's event. When I started to leave out, I heard someone call out my name.

"Adaleah!" I stop to turn to see Lya running after me. Her hair, her clothes, and her makeup was messed up. But that wasn't the only thing that caught me off guard. When she came up to me, her eyes were red and the tears wouldn't stop.

"Adaleah! I didn't know you two were dating. He never said anything about it! I'm sorry!" She quickly sputtered out with her crying through mid sentence. Taking a deep breath in, I exhaled it out with a sigh.

I couldn't really be mad at her because she didn't know that William and I were dating. His ass made sure not to tell her. Basically he's been screwing a lot of the girls, but poor Lya, he kept her around because he had a "Interest" in her.

So I'm assuming the reason why Landon didn't like him because he knew things about William and I didn't. That's why he cared less for him and that's why he made sure he got demoted from being his Chamberlain. But I'm also mad at his ass because he could've told me!

"Adaleah!!" Lya cried coming up closer to me as I back up slowly, giving us a small space gap. I only knew Lya Durand as one of the youngest maid that was around the same age as me. 18. "Please I'm sorry!"

"Look Lya," I paused not knowing how to feel about it because it still hurts my heart to know that someone was playing with my feelings. "I don't really know you that well but I do know that you were a victim. You didn't know that William was a real asshole. Why didn't anyone say anything to you?"

She wiped her tears, hiccuping in the process, trying to regain herself through the crying. "Well Amber and Jade would try to talk to me but I never understood why. I thought they just wanted to be my friend. But now that it make sense, Claudine, May, and Miss. Taylor would interrupt them. Even when we were in mid doing chores, I would be interrupted by them."

Hearing this information about my friends trying to warn this young girl that I was dating William, made me love them more. They were really, truly, my friends and I love that. But William and I weren't even exactly on good terms lately and it made sense why.

I'm assuming Claudine, and May only did it so they could laugh at the poor girl. They wanted her to feel embarrassment about the whole thing and now I kinda feel bad for her.

"I didn't know!! I swear Adaleah! I'm so so sorry!" She hiccuped through her cries, trying to get me to understand that she didn't know but honestly I'm over it.

"It's okay Lya. You didn't know so I sorta forgive you. William no, I will not forgive him." I turned around and sighed, "And honestly, he deserves someone as sweet and innocent like you."

I continued to walk away, leaving Lya crying wreck. I'm not in the mood for anyone's bullshit today and I didn't want  Landon to talk to me either. I'm pissed at him too.

I knocked on Mr. Hugo's room door, hoping that he'll answer. He wanted to talk before we got down to tonight's event but him not answering the door is telling me he had to be elsewhere. I sighed, knocking once again but that was interrupted when I heard footsteps behind me.

"Adaleah? If you're looking for Mr. Hugo, he just left to go downstairs." Hearing Theo's husky voice made me close my eyes and feel hopeless. I knew Mr. Hugo wouldn't want to talk to me after he saw what Landon and I did earlier. Maybe he's too disturbed on what could happen to me.
