Prologue

You were a way for me to get closer to Emily. I never loved you, I never had...

THUMP!

I finally woke up from that horrific dream. Having a nightmare is one thing but falling off your bed onto the cold hard wood floor is something else. After lying on the floor for quite sometime still brain dead like a zombie I got up. I went to the bathroom attached to my bedroom to get my daily routine done and out of the way. I got to my wardrobe and got any random thing I could find. You see, I don't really care about my appearance especially if it is school I mean come on who is bothered to wake at 6:00 am to get ready for the hell hole we call school just to learn the crap that we will apparently be needing in our lives. phst as if, I savour every last second of my sleep. It's not because I am not smart, I am but I don't see the point for some lessons like history I mean they are all dead. We should stop re-living the past and embrace the future, well in my opinion that is. I went downstairs to greet my parents.

"morning mom, dad" I said while kissing my moms cheek then moving on to give dad a hi-five.

"Morning Alli" they both said in monotone, guess I am not the only one who hates mornings .I grabbed a quick snack, a green apple to be more specific and headed for the door. I put on my ear plugs and listened in full blast to my playlist. As I was walking I thought of the dream. I was getting so caught up in it that I didn't notice that I was at the school parking lot where Emily my childhood best friend stood waving her arms like a maniac.

"HEY ALLI!" Em screamed in my ear while giving me a bone crushing hug.

"Hi Em, how was the trip" Em and her family went on a trip to Alabama to visit relatives and didn't get back till yesterday morning. How I missed my best friend is impossible to put into words.

"Great it was so fun but my brot-" she was stopped midsentence by my boyfriend Kai who embraced me with hug.

"Alli I haven't seen you in a while where have you been, I missed you" he said and giving me yet another hug. "Oh you know I have been out and about".

" So are you coming to the party Em?" Kai said.

"Obviously, I am always free when it comes to partying" "how about you Alli are you coming?" Emily asked while turning to face me.

"Nah I think I will pass" I answered and just in time because the bell rang for first period.

"Bye guys, don't want to be late for class" I waved at both of them sprinting to get to class on time. I am what you call a geek when it comes to learning. Yeah I might not like school but at the end of the day I would like to get good grades.

Before I knew it, the final bell rang indicating that it was to go home. I packed all my things and dashed for the door.

I got home at no time and headed for my bedroom while not forgetting to pass on a few hey's to my parents who came back from work just as I did from school. I was laying on my bed when I thought of the party that Emily and Kai were going to go to.

"Why don't I go and surprise them?" I thought to myself. Yep that's exactly what I am going to do. I got ready into something that I personally thought I put a lot of effort into, well if I do say so myself. I got into my car, yes you heard right my own car that my parents thought that I deserved which I have. What can I say I'm perfect like that... ha who am I kidding that was a load of bull. I got in my car and headed for the party. Ughh! I just remembered that I don't even know the damn address, well there goes my brilliant plan for a surprise. Oh wait I think I found it, yes! I am back in the game.

I pulled up to the house where the party was going being held. WOW! that's the only word I could think of when entering the place. I had never been to an actual high school party so this was all new to me. Yeah there was the occasional gather around with Kai's friends but nothing compared to this. Anyway I am going way off topic from the whole reason as to why I am here. I was looking around for them when I bumped into a couple making out in front of me. "Oh m-y, I'm sorry I didn't see you guys" I awkwardly say while backing away from the couple. They both turned around finally acknowledging my presence but what I saw was something indescribable. There standing in front of me was Kai and Emily, the two people who I loved more than life itself.

"How could you do this?" I said my voice cracking at the end, but I held my tears from gushing like a waterfall. I am not going to give them the satisfaction of what they did get to me even though I was dying inside. It hurt so bad.

"Well the reason for me kissing Em here is because I love her and she loves me back." I saw nothing but the truth behind those once beautiful eyes I loved. He lied to me. he said he loved me throughout the 3 years we had been together. Realization hit me like a ton of bricks and gave me bruises everywhere. I couldn't be here anymore so I ran till I came back to the entrance of the house that I came through not even an hour ago with the biggest grin on my face to see my boyfriend and my best friend. Little did I know that I will see them but together in a way I would have never imagined possible.

I was going to get to my car when I heard that one sentence I thought I wouldn't here again, not in the same day at least.

"You were a way for me to get closer to Emily." What? I thought what we had was something special, now I know that it was to good to be true.

"I never loved you, I never had." I saw sympathy and shock flash through their eyes. What is this, another joke. They think they can pity me to make me feel more bad than I am already am? When I got my answer to my question it was to late. I had already felt the contact of the car against half of my body, the impact of it making me land on to the side of my face with a huge force.

Ouch! That hurt...
