'So Desirée, how long have you lived here?', Sharon asked as soon as they were seated.
'Uhh, I moved here ten years ago', Desirée provided.
'Oh, so that caused the break up between you and my husband?',she acknowledged.
Desirée was about to reply when the waiter arrived.
'I'll just have coffee please', Desirée smiled.
'Desirée darling, you can order anything, I'll foot the bill', she smiled deceptively.
Desireee glanced at the waiter, then at Sharon.
'Coffee will be OK sir and I'll pay', she said, eyes never leaving Sharon, who stared back with venom in her eyes.
Desirée knew her type. The ones who used their status in life to intimidate people.
Dominic sat staring at the two beside him, Sharon looking at Desirée as if she was her prey. He didn't know why though. Sharon did not love him and vice versa. Their marriage was not based on love;he only married her because she had been pregnant with his child and he took full responsibility for his actions, even if it meant marrying a woman he did not love.
It was not like Sharon loved him either, she didn't. She only married him for the status and money. The woman didn't even love her own child. If only Desirée showed up two years ago.
'Hmmm, so what did you do before this Desirée?'
Desirée stared at Sharon in disbelief. This felt like an interrogation instead of breakfast.

'Somebody should have told me this was a quiz, I would have bought my notepad', she smiled stifly, directing her gaze at Sharon.

'Des', Dominic warned.
Desirée sighed.

'Des, is that what you call her Dominic?', Sharon asked, raising a very inquisitive brow.

'Yes', was the only reply she got.

'Can you leave your wretched ways at home sometimes?', Dominic asked bitterly.

'Well no husband, it's a part of who I am', she winked 'anyway, how did you expect me to behave towards a woman my husband fucked some years ago?', Sharon flashed.

Dominic laughed inwardly,pity she didn't know.
'Desirée is my friend, the past is the past', Dominic retorted.

'Oh and don't you think old flames will reignite?', she asked knowingly.

Too late!.Dominic thought

'What do you care anyway, we don't love eachother', Dominic stated flatly.

'True, but if you ever think you can embarrass me by leaving me for that trash, you've got a next thing coming', Sharon threatened.

'Don't you dare call her that', Dominic said icely.
Sharon stared at him for some seconds then scuffed.

'My, my, you still love her', she said,open mouthed.

'Excuse me, I've gotta take a shower', Dominic said pushing past her.

'Want me to join you', she winked

Dominic didn't even answer. He knew she knew his answer. After all, in their almost two years of marriage, the number of times they had sex could be tallied on one hand.
The only person he knew could satisfy his pounding libido was.....I'm sure y'all know.

Desirée showered and was in a black silk lingerie. Tonight was always movie night with Patrick. She had to admit, she missed Patrick, he could always make her laugh and guarantee great sex, but she did not love him.
The only person she loved was Dominic Santos and no matter what she did to tell herself, she didn't love him. She always knew it was a lie. She knew she was breaking all the values she'd been taught, by being with a married man but she couldn't deny what she felt. However, she was not in the practice of being a home wrecker, so she had to stop. No matter how painful. From now onwards, she had to keep things between Dominic and herself strictly professional!.
Desirée was bought out of her thoughts by a knock at the door. Patrick? Was the first thought that conjured in her head. She finished with the application of moisturizer to her skin before she dashed to the door. She was shocked when she saw the figure standing at the door.
