Desirée stepped out of the office at seven thirty that night. She made picked up a few things at the supermarket before she went home. As soon as she opened the door to her house, her phone rang. She quickly ran inside and dropped the groceries on the table.

"Desirée here", she answered breathlessly.
"Hey girlfriend!", a voice rang out over the phone.

"Alexia?", Desirée asked in confusion.

"No honey, it's Donnielle, anyway, we are having a high school reunion", she blabbed "oh girl it has been years, I found your number in the directory", she said finally after releasing a sigh.
Desirée listened, stunned "oh it's so nice to hear from you, it's been so long, where is Alexia?, do you guys still keep in touch?, Desirée asked

"Of course girl, she's living her dream, owns a boutique now, ALH fashionable Enterprise"

"That's great!", Desirée squealed in excitement.

"Yes girl, and isn't it all coincidental, you moved all those years ago and now we're all back in the same place, well except, it's like we followed you",Donnielle laughed

Desirée smiled, "that's so true"

"Yes girl so bring that lovely Dominic, won't you?, you two must be married by now", Donnielle said excitingly.

Desirée paused, she hoped.

"No we are not even together anymore, but I'll tell him", she sighed

"Bullshit!, oh girl that's so sad, you two were perfect together", she said, the spark dimming in her voice"well just bring a date OK?"

"Yea, sure thing, we'll catch up. I can't wait to see you", she squealed.

"I know right!, anyway I'll fill you in on all the juicy gossip that took place ten years years ago when you left", she said cheerfully "oh and it's next week Sunday, laters baby" she said before she hung up.

Desirée sighed, god it was good to hear from old friends. She'd miss them so much and regretted that she didn't stay in touch with them. Now everyone was back in the same place.
Desirée sighed. Who was she supposed to bring to the reunion?. She had broken up with Patrick, bad timing. Worst of all everyone expected her to be with Dominic, what a disappointment that would be. But c'est la vie!. You win some, you lose some.
Desirée unpacked the groceries and then showered for bed.

Dominic cradled Arianna in his hands as he rocked her to sleep.
"Da DA!", she squealed, kicking.

Dominic smiled, it was the second time he had heard the words and it was like a musical tune he wished not to stop hearing.
When Sharon was pregnant, he'd often wished it was Desiree's. And the thing he failed to understand was why he still love her so much. He loved everything about the woman for Pete's sake.

Desirée bit into a sandwich, "ma, I'm not bringing Jerry to my high school reunion", she muttered, cheeks puffy with food.
Jerry was her mother's neighbor who worked in forensics at a police station. They often talked but he was So not her type.

"Honey, Jerry is a nice, decent guy...a good friend", Jackie implored.

"M- mom, you're right...", she trailed off, biting into her sandwich
