Chalent's POV:
Even after centuries, even when all the Titans turned to nothing but memories, and me just buried down, I was still capable of seeing what's going on at the top of his body, which is recently known as the Boiling Isles
For some reason, he made me connected to him since the day he took me in, don't know if it was true when he said it was for keeping me safe ... day by day, it faded at the underground
Beside that, at that time, even when I was taken away from an endless death, he left, for them, but not for me, he always been there in the corner of my mind
And here I am, got back to him, to the star I fell for, between his arms, resting that tired head of mine on his shoulder
.... Estoile won't get him, not even with that way, they're both the same ...
End of Chalent's POV
As Collector reached to the Archive House, the place was ... weirdly quiet, yet comfortable .... he hates this feeling
His grasp on Chalent tightened a bit, as he looked cautiously around
" Him again?! "
" Collector ... "
He got dumbfounded, immediately turning to the source, at the dark, shiny, red eyes
" No ... " he murmured, scared to death, " no no NONONO! "
" I have to-! "
He noticed Chalent began to move, but before she can do it, he snapped his fingers, now, removing the former one, a bloody-red crescent appeared on her forehead, making her body loosened, and ultimately fell asleep
With quiet but tense steps, at least for Collector, Estoile stepped out of the darkness, heading towards him
" Est, please ... " he looked at the older star, with fearful, pleading eyes " I'll be back, I won't go anywhere, I won't disobey you ever again! just please ... leave them alone "
Estoile looked down, his eyes softened " dear ... " he raised his hand towards him " I just- " but Collector backed away, turning his back
Estoile looked at him silently, " ... you lied to me ... " Collector murmured sadly
" I know ... " he admitted, sending Collector down already was a mistake, big mistake, and like any mistake he found, he chopped it, but this one now ... really scratch him to bleed
" But brother " Estoile tried to explain " if I knew they were dangerous, I would never- "
" No they're NOT! " he yelled, frustrated " j-just ... " his voice got lower " .... leave " and deeper
Estoile just stood there, what just happened? he didn't imagine- NO! he didn't want to imagine it, he needs to keep everything he built safe, everything he held dear
" Colly, p-please ... " he tried to get him, but the star child only flew away
" Stop right now! "
He felt a chill running down his spine, hearing Estoile's angry, desperate growl
Without looking behind, he kept getting away, away, away ... away
Until he got in one of the rooms, shutting the door behind, as he slowly stepped in, slowly, putting Chalent gently on the wall
He sat next to her, leaning towards her arm, reflecting what just happened
He defied Estoile, more than once already, but still, it felt .. strange, and kind of scary, seeing Estoile angry
His brother was always calm at any case, he was like, a teddy bear giving comfort for everyone, he always was there for him, letting him play with his cloak as he worked, and sometimes slept with it when he was hundred times smaller than it, reading him stories before bed ...
Suddenly, he felt an arm behind his back, wrapped around him, it was shaking at the beginning, but as he was held close, the shaking stopped
" ... Chal? " he murmured in surprise, without looking at her face, just recognized the delicate touch " how did you- "
" Cry " she said calmly " if it's too much to keep it, just cry, let it out " her hand rubbed his back gently " yeah, it's not the ideal world you would ever wish to make, but it's also perfectly fine to letting out "
With a short hesitation, drip by drip, trembling between her arms as she held him close
" You know you didn't have to make me unconscious ... "
" I thought h-he ... " he sniffled, his breath is shaky " ... he would ... get it " he teared up even more, not capable of finishing his sentence " I ... d-didn't want you to get hurt "
Chalent held him close, resting her head in his shoulder, she could understand, controlling, demanding, cruel, paranoid
But she knew Collector was crying for a slightly different reason, he was betrayed by someone he thought he loved him
For her, he didn't even put the effort of making her think he loved her, as if he talked with a soldier, not a mere child
But, living with a lie, instead of already knowing it and keeping it next to her, she didn't know which to prefer, but one thing for sure, she won't choose willingly
" Chal .... " he murmured, only thinking about it made him cry more " I love you ... I really do .. I did want to escape ... I did want him to know how I feel ... but why it feels so wrong? "
" Wrong like .... seeing his reaction? him being upset? " she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, he silently nodded
" Look at me, Starry " she raised his chin to look at her, her hand on his chin rising it, and the other one on his cheek, caressing it gently
Her eyes held painful sorrow, yet reassurtion, " Estoile did hurt you in a ... very ... hard way to get it, surely, it's hard to understand, but even if he does love you, his ways say otherwise, even if he had genuine reasons, he's not right "
Her forehead rested against his, " how it hurts is important ... more than anything "
" I ... just hope he won't hurt any of- " he cut himself, as he quickly stood, his eyes widened " Chal ...? " he looked at her, as he wiped his tears " King was asleep, right? "
" Yeah? " she answered, a bit confused, although she was insidely worried, he better not be awake ...
Collector pulled his hat down to see how's King, Chalent watched his expression cautiously
After few minutes, he let out a relief sigh as she did the same, he smiled at her " he's- "
" Collector "
