The Times We Share

[ ~ Chapter 2 ~ ]

Rengoku's POV

"Uzui?" I said with a slight hint of confusion in my voice, he replied with "Hey, didnt see you there sorry." Oh it must have been an accident. I pulled myself off of the ground and held out my hand for Uzui to take, which in response he did "What are you doing out here so late?" I asked still confused "I got sent on a mission and just finished it, what are you doing here?" He replied,  repeating the question I had just asked him but in a slightly different way. "The same as you." I replied to him as we started walking back together. Silence filled the air as we walked back, the only sounds that could be heard were birds chirping, and the wind pushing against us making out hair fly around. I wanted to break the silence, but at the same time just walking with him as the sun rose, with wind blowing against us, was a beautiful moment to say the least. I glanced over at him (wow he looks amazing..) wait.. what am i thinking?! I quickly turning my head away, he must've noticed because he asked "What's wrong?" I replied to his question with "Nothing." This was gonna be a long walk.

(Time skip)

Uzui's POV

I waved goodbye to Rengoku walking back to my estate, I found it weird that he wasnt acting happy like he always does. On that walk, I knew something was wrong, or maybe i'm wrong and nothing was actually wrong. It felt weird not to seeing him all happy, (wait..why am i worrying so much?) I sighed walking into my estate and turned on the lights and went to the kitchen to make something to eat since it was almost daytime anyway there was no reason to go to sleep.

I walked into my house seeing my little brother Senjuro "Brother!" He smiled running towards me to give me a hug I hugged him back then let go "Senjuro, when did you wake up?" I smiled warmly at him while aksing "Just a few minutes ago." As soon as he stopped talking there was a grumbling sound, I laughed "Are you hungry?" I smiled. He also smiled, being embarrassed because of the funny sound "Yeah.. can you make us something to eat?" He asked "Of course." I stood up walking over to the kitchen with my little brother following me "Wait here for a second, okay?" He nodded, I walked out of the kitchen, down a the hallway, stopping infront of a door. I slowly opened it with a squeak following until it was fully opened "Father?" He didn't reply, just waved his hand for me to leave him alone. I listened and shut the door and left walking back to the kitchen "What do you want to eat?" I asked my little brother "Hmm.. pancakes sound good!" He replied happily, I laughed. "Okay, want me to add chocolate chips?" I asked "Yes!" I began grabbing everything i needed and began cooking

(Time skip)

I started washing the dishes while my little brother went to his room, I finished the last plate and began to walk out of the kitchen, until i bumped into someone. It was my father "Get out of my way!" He said angrily pushing me out of the way, walking into the kitchen to get more sake. He walked out back to his room where you could hear a loud slam and then silence.
