After driving for about a couple of minutes or so, away from the auto shop, the two try to come up with what to do next.

Since their ride up back to Bronx was going to be hours away.

And the time was currently in the evening.

"So now that we have everything we need to put that guy through court, do you want to grab a quick bite to eat and then we can stop somewhere up ahead to rest up for the night?" Jerry asked.

"Well, it's getting pretty late from all the driving in town. How about I just take you out to dinner?" Tom offered him simply.

Huh?!

Did he just say...

Jerry thought, with his face turning bright pink in blush.

"U...uh yeah. T...that would be nice." Jerry stuttered nervously, rubbing his neck.

"Pfft. Never been to a fancy restaurant before. Huh?" Tom teased with a smile, knowing how he could easily make him flustered.

"No. But it's a first." Jerry said with a small anxious laugh.

"Do you like Italian?" Tom asked curiously.

"Yeah. I could go for anything. Why?" Jerry asked, curiously.

"Well, from what I've heard, there's this really good restaurant called Aroma on Bryant. It has the best pastas and cheeses on the menu. Do you think we should check it out?" Tom suggested.

"O...okay. Sure." Jerry replied with a large nervous smile on his face before turning his head around to face the window and panicked quietly.

Why does this feel like a date?

No.

Jerry, stop it.

It's just dinner.

Acquaintances and friends can have dinners like these too, right?

Right....

Jerry wondered with his mind all over the place as Tom looks over at him and starts laughing.

"Why, are you getting so quiet over there? What are you thinking about right now?" Tom asked with a light chuckle.

"N..nothing! I'm just enjoying the night view from my window." Jerry fibbed anxiously.

"Uh huh. And what is it that you like about the night view? Is it the city lights or the cars passing by you?" Tom asked curiously right as Jerry turns to him, confused.

"What? What kind of question is that?" Jerry asked, puzzled.

"Well, it's something to talk about since you've been staring at that window over there for the last two minutes, like a stool pigeon. At least give me something to talk about until we get there. It'll still be a few more miles up ahead." Tom pointed out with a teasing smile.

"You're right. It's just...there's been so much going on these past few days and I guess I'm wondering when I could ever get a break from any of it." Jerry mentioned.

"True, it has been a rough week for you. And you may even still have many more questions later on to ask about it. But hey, look the bright side, at least you won't have to worry about what's happening right now. Because it'll only be dinner and some good wine to help unwind yourself for a bit." Tom advised.

"Yeah, you're right. Let's just focus on what's really important at the moment. Like food. And man, am I starving." Jerry said while thinking about his stomach, that's been rumbling for who knows how long.
