After Baskner reported the bloodshed chaos that was happening in the Syracuse mansion, along with the exception of rescuing a journalist from the help of professional former military team, a short but quickly closed investigation was launched in effort to clear their names of responsibility before moving on to the more important matter at hand.

The safety and protection of two witnesses that have been personally been in the crossfire.

Which meant that the easiest and safest way to handle it in case other mafia crew were out there attempting to kill them to reclaim their standing line position of the syndicate was witness protection.

And from there, only Baskner would allow himself to be the sole protector of the pair and have full knowledge of the location so that corrupted agents couldn't get mixed in the bunch.

The location?

A beautiful beach full of clear blue water in the relaxing town of Key West, Florida.

The two were given a private condo with a backyard as the direct access to the long extending line of the shore.

Although they have new identities and had to live secluded with no family or friend contact, they couldn't be more happier to know that the hardest parts were over.

"Alright. You guys are all set to go. Feel free to hit the waters and the sun. Just don't bother me unless you need anything. I live right across the street from the house." Baskner said with a simple wave before attempting to leave until Jerry interrupted him for a question.

"Wait. You didn't give us our new identity names." Jerry insisted.

"Don't worry about it. Your first names are so common, I simply skipped it. Your last names are what changed but you really don't need it unless you're out there buying a home, property or even a bar for all I care. And if you ever get a speeding ticket or some baloney charge that some idiot gives you, then the cops here will simply clear your names since you're under federal protection." Baskner explained.

"Oh wow. Then I guess this is it. Early retirement and the beach just like we always wanted." Jerry said before looking over at Tom, who looked back at him, with both of their warm smiles glowing on their faces.

Knowing for sure what they should tell each other on how they were really feeling.

All while Baskner simply shook his head and laughed at the cheesy moment he's witnessing and decides to leave.

"Heh. I guess I should leave you two alone now. You kids better behave yourselves though." Baskner joked with a small laugh.

"Oh sure. that's rich, coming from Mr. Workaholic over here. Who thinks that he doesn't need a vacation." Tom said, sarcastically.

"I don't. This is my job. Watching two endangered people, who seem to be doing fine on their own. As long as they don't get into any kind of trouble or try to bug me to death over some nonsense." Baskner said.

"Wow. Very convenient of you to say." Tom said, rolling his eyes.

"Ta ta." Baskner said with a wave goodbye before leaving the house and shuts the door behind them.

Leaving the two laughing from their new friend's silly act.

"Pfft. What was that about?" Jerry asked curiously.

"No idea. I think he needed the break and simply used this situation as an opportunity for one. But honestly, between me and you, I think he just needs to get back with his ex wife. I'm sure he missed her very much." Tom said with a chuckle.

"What? You mean to tell me that he's been married? Well, I certainly wonder what happened to their marriage there." Jerry said, curiously.

"I don't know. Maybe it was his charming skills or some bull that convinced her in the first place before she saw how delusional he got working all the time and left his butt behind." Tom predicted with a shrug.

"Oh? Are you telling me that you two are now close friends?" Jerry asked in a tease.

"Nah, but if he ever pulls a stunt on you with that van again, I'll be putting some of those bullets between his stupid hat and those strained eyeballs." Tom said, shaking his head.

"Haha" Jerry laughed before his smile started to lower a little in worry.

Thinking about how everything might change since their whole lives have been turned upside down with the hidden fact that this might be the only life they'll be stuck with for a very long time.

And wanted to ask if he was willing to go through with this witness protection process.

Even if it means he couldn't have the freedom to do much else.

"Hey Tom?" Jerry asked, but in a small mumble, feeling a little nervous about the question itself.

"Yeah?" Tom replied while looking over at him.

"Now that you're free from the mafia life, what are you going to do? You probably have no where to go. No way to live a normal life. It's just hiding. Are you sure that is what you wanted? Because if not then..." Jerry was going to say sadly until he was interrupted by Tom, who quickly took his hands and held onto them softly.

"Yes, I do. And I wouldn't have changed it any other way. Jerry, I know it's been rough but I'm going to be just fine. We're going to be fine. We can start a fresh new life. And... sigh. I know it was hard for you to learn about what I really did for a living and the truth about your own family in the mafia business. But I really am sorry, I lied. I just wish I could have told you sooner..." Tom spoke genuinely before Jerry immediately cuts him off with a tight hug around his waist.

"Stop, please. I don't want you to have to think about that anymore. It's not your fault and I shouldn't have judged you for any of it. I'm sorry you had to deal with it all alone." Jerry spoke quietly, with his head buried to his chest.

"Thanks, but you don't have to worry about me. I'm not alone anymore....because I got you." Tom spoke sweetly right as Jerry looked up at him in shock.

With their hearts beating fast.

And their eyes directing at each other.

As Tom caresses Jerry's cheek with his hand and smiled in a soft glow.

"Tom I..." Jerry was about to say before Tom then leaned closer and gently kissed him on the lips!

The kiss lingered and deepened for what felt like 2 minutes before the two part to breathe as Tom watched Jerry's face flush out of surprise and started to laugh.

"Heh. Sorry. Got a little carried away there. What was it that you wanted to say?" Tom asked in a small tease.

"I...I wanted to say that I...love you. And that I was falling for you. Even after everything went wrong, I still somehow knew in my heart that you were a good person. And I wanted you to know that I will always be here with you through many of the crazy adventures that we might get ourselves into." Jerry confessed.

"Well, I guess that means you're stuck with an experienced hit man who's just about as crazy in love with you as you can get. Do you think you can trust him?" Tom joked.

"I do." Jerry said with a smile before the two then wrapped around each other in a hug and kissed again right as the sun peeked to its horizon.

Where everything is peaceful and now a place where they can both call it home.

*Author's Note: thank you so much for reading my first ever Tom and Jerry fanfic. It was an amazing journey to place these two in a mafia like scenario role in New York City. I had a lot of fun writing this one. If you guys have any thoughts or ideas for making another one. Comment below and let me know so that I can jumpstart into another project for this lovely shipping in the future. 😊❤️
