It had been almost a week since Harry had the weird incident during the game. His hand had grown all of its bones back and he was good as new. However, that did not mean that something didn't take place the night of his recovery. He had heard that voice again and after some research and more listening, Harry had started to speculate things.
Yet, they did not have a lot of proof, which meant that their original plan was still at play. Currently, they were residing inside the girls' bathroom on the first floor. It was a gloomy place with Cracked mirrors, chipped sinks and guttering candles. The place was abandoned with no one ever stepping into it, even the elves that cleaned it did a hasty job. Which was the perfect place for their potion brewing to take place.
Hermione was stirring the potion, asking Aurora to pass her different strange ingredients. A part of her still could not believe they were only in their second year and making a very illegal position. She found it amusing and wished she could share it with the twins but she knew she couldn't. She only hoped Minerva never found out or she would permanently be transformed into a teapot.
"Again? You mean, the Chamber of Secrets has been opened before?" Hermione asked, trying to understand what Harry had just told them while remaining concentrated on the potion,
Ron did not seem to be that shocked. "Of course! Don't you see? Lucius Malfoy must've opened it when he was at school here, and now he's told Draco how to do it."
This made Aurora sceptical. "I do not know, Ron. I mean, yes he is a bastard but I do not think he is capable of opening the chambers"
"Maybe. We'll have to wait for the Polyjuice Potion to know for sure." Hermione added, finding the middle ground between the two opinions.
"Enlighten me. Why are we brewing this potion in broad daylight, in the middle of a girl's lavatory? Don't you think we'll get caught?" Ron asked as he looked around.
Aurora was amused and passed a hand around his neck, pulling him closer. "Oh, Ron, Ron...poor Ron," she said, making him shiver at her sudden mischievous tone. "No one and I mean, no one ever comes in here"
This made him nervous and he could not help but swallow his saliva. "Why?"
"Moaning Myrtle," Hermione explained to him.
"Who's Moaning Myrtle?"
Aurora quickly covered her ears. "Heads up" she warned but it was too late for the others.
The very same second there was a loud piercing screech as the ghost of a young girl came racing out of the wall. She stopped face to face with now a very pale and shaking Ron, who was very close to passing out.
"I'm Moaning Myrtle. I wouldn't expect you to know me. Who would ever talk about fat, ugly, miserable, moping, moaning Myrtle?" she sobbed loudly and then dove head-first into the nearby toilet, making a geyser of water to be shot from it.
Aurora patted his back. "Don't mind her. She's just a little sensitive."
Ron swallowed hard, still shaken while Harry was simply taken off guard. Aurora did not mind them, for she had a similar reaction when she first met Myrtle. She was much younger and she was simply exploring the bathrooms when the ghost had appeared.
It scared her shitless that day but slowly, the brave and stubborn Aurora kept coming back again and again. Eventually, Myrtle accepted her and merely ignored her when she was not in the mood.
On rare occasions, Aurora did have some sort of conversation with Myrtle. It never lasted long for she would turn emotional quite fast and she would cause a huge destruction in the bathrooms during her dramatic exit.
