Jeremy ran into the police department and found Andy and Sam.

"Sam! I mean, sarge. Forgive me if I've interrupted anything" he said.

"Hi, J dawg. Come on in; we're just wrapping our heads around this prisoner" said Sam.

"Well, who is he?" said Jeremy.

He got a good look at Mr Smythe. "And why is he wearing my clothes?"

"Because his own are untraceable at the moment" said Sam.

"Oh, Sam! I'm a nervous wreck already; I don't need some stranger wearing my clothes" said Jeremy.

"Jeremy, not so tense. Our interviewee is also a nervous wreck. Mostly because he doesn't remember anything" said Andy.

Jeremy took a breath. "I'm sorry. I just... came looking for Officer McNally."

"Me? Why me?" said Andy.

Jeremy had no idea how to tell her what he saw, so he thought of a cover.

"I wanted to take you to Windermere" he said.

"Windermere England?" said Andy.

"Yes. Y'know, where Chad was born."

"Why?"

"I saw how tired you were last night. If your work's been that tiring, why are you at work today?" said Jeremy.

"Yeah... Andy has been doing all the work lately" said Sam.

"But I can't leave now" said Andy.

"I'll take care of the prisoner. You take a break, McNally" said Sam.

Andy took a deep breath. "Well, if you're sure."

Then she left with Jeremy.

"But keep on the murder mystery!" Sam called over her shoulder.

Then she turned back to her helpless interviewee.

"The murder mystery, sergeant?" said Mr Smythe.

"There's been a murder in town, and we've been investigating. It's a mystery because we don't know who did it" said Sam.

"How long have you been investigating it?"

"A long time. So, to be honest, it's to your credit I'm on your case now. Gives me a break from all that" said Sam.

Mr Smythe softened and gave the girl a tiny smile.

"And speaking of your case..." Sam started.

"Where do we go from here?" said Mr Smythe.

"I don't know. But I'm not gonna stop until I've figured it out" said Sam.
