I stare at my reflection in the mirror as I curl my lashes one last time. This is good, this is pretty, I look good. I smile at myself as I slip on these simple silver heels. With one last glance in the mirror I give my little bun a squeeze before grabbing my keys and phone and hurrying out the door.

I don't want to be the last one ready or else someone might complain or leave me behind, again. I walk in through the kitchen ash make my way into the front living room where Charlotte and my dad are talking in a hushed tone.

"Els! you look beautiful kiddo" my dad says walking over giving me a side hug, "doesnt she look perfect honey?"

"she looks divine" Charlotte gives me a smile that was forced out when my dad looked at her.

"now where are those girls we're going to be late" my dad huffs out making Charlotte hurry down the hall where their rooms are.

"you excited honey? I know how much you love to save the animals" he says pumping his fist in the air.

"yea, it sounds like a cool project, preserving aquatic habitats is really important because of how important their role is for our community"

"you know I made the donation in your honor" he tells me giving me a smile.

"really?"

He hums nodding his head, "Charlotte wasn't too happy I spent her shopping money" he chuckles making me laugh.

The sound of clicking heels against the marbled floor makes us snapper heads to the noise where Charlotte is followed by her two daughter, identical in their attitudes and walks but their faces are completely different.

Hannah's face is more round, cute; while Hailey has a sharp jaw with a pointy nose. I believe they would look like Charlotte if that was even her real face.

"You girls all look so gorgeous" my dad gushes complimenting them.

"you look beautiful" I add on giving them smiles.

"I know" Hailey laughs light.

"well come on, enough chitchat we have to go" Charlotte says while walking out the door.

We all go in my dad's Tesla which means I have to sit in the back, with them. I smile as Hannah goes in first and Hailey stands outside the door staring at me, "well... we don't have all day"

I give her a smile as I crawl into the middle seat, Hailey slides in pushing me into Hannah, "sorry."

"Ugh move!" they both push me into the other.

"settle down ladies, its not a far drive" my dad says sliding in as we start the longest 15 minutes of my life.

We pull up to this gorgeous glass building, it's all modern and very scientific, "wow." I breathe out leaning forward to look out the window.

"remember girls, we are the picture perfect family, please be on your best behaviors tonight" Charlotte says as the car stops and someone comes opening the doors helping everyone out. I pick up my dress climbing out alone since Hannah was busy eyeing the guy who would've helped me.

We walk up the concrete steps behind a few other couples and families that go up into the building. We walk into the main lobby where there are bars serving drinks and a few tables with finger food.

We all walk in together, me walking behind everyone else as my dad and Charlotte have their arms linked and the twins are busy taking pictures of one another.
