Chapter 4: Pig for Luck

As all the family members gathered and seated on their seats on the dining area, Muzan opened his mouth agape to begin talking.

"You, all our children, might be wondering why you're all gathered here.", Muzan began, holding a sweet fatherly smile to all his children. "Father, mother, are you two going to adopt a new member to the family... again?", Gyutaro asked sarcastically that made Muzan chuckle.
"No, no. We're not adopting any more children for now.", Muzan answered that made Gyutaro sigh in relief.
Gyutaro has lived over 100 years and had enough with Ume— a spoiled girl, who's stuck in his entire life. This made Gyutaro get easily annoyed with his younger siblings.

"The reason is your mother and I will be going on a 1-week business trip to Kakunodate.", Muzan announced "And while we're gone, we wish that there's no incidents happening in the mansion.", Tamayo added with a bit of sternness in her voice.
"You're going to Kakunodate together? Is it optional for just one of you stay?", Yushiro asked "Yeah! Can just one of you stay??", Ume agreed. However, Tamayo shook her head in response "No, it's not optional. The patient has requested both of us to go.", Tamayo explained.
"While we're gone, Yushiro and Douma would be in-charged until we come back from the trip.", Muzan said that made Yushiro perk up his head "M-me?", Yushiro uttered in surprise "Oh? I never knew I would be capable of such responsibility~", Douma giggled while caressing his platinum blonde hair.
It was rare for the family for having both of their parents travel together for a business trip.
Commonly, one of their parents go to visit a patient.

"We have our trust in you two since you both the oldest among your siblings.", Muzan said.
"Okey-dokey~! We'll do our best! Father, mother!", Douma exclaimed cheerfully.

Rui giggles as he nudged Zenitsu who was next to him. "While mother and father are gone, let's put toilet paper all over the house..~", Rui whispered to him that made Zenitsu startled by his idea of prank.

"Mom, dad, when are you guys going to leave?", Genya asked "Good question; tomorrow early in the morning.", Muzan answered "Ugh... it's gonna be a chaotic week...", Inosuke grumbled.
"I almost thought father was going to adopt another child thanks to Gyutaro.", Douma giggled.
Douma then looks at Inosuke who sat between him and Kotoha.
"I miss Inosuke when he was just a baby", Douma cried out and ruffled his son's dark blue hair "What's wrong with you?", Inosuke asked casually "You grow up so fast...!", Douma continued that caught Kotoha's attention "Douma, are you alright?", Kotoha asked in concern as she sees Douma hugging Inosuke tightly. "Da-dad! Get off me! Mom! Help!", Inosuke shouted in a muffled tone as he squirmed within his dad's hug but Kotoha found them cute and laugh them off.

"Papa, where is Kakunodate? Is it far away?", Kanao asked Muzan "Yes, it's very far up north of Tohoku region.", Muzan answered "Have you gone there before?", Kanao asked and Muzan nodded "It was a very long time ago, before I even met your mother. I was already a traveling doctor going region after region to treat people.", Muzan explained as Kanao became interested.
"Papa, can you tell me how you met mama?", Kanao asked as she receives a head pat from her father and a giggle. "Maybe next time. I have to go upstairs and pack our luggage for tomorrow.", Muzan said as he stood up from his chair.

Muzan passed by Tamayo "I'm going to pack our luggage upstairs.", he spoke to her as she nodded "I'll come too.", Tamayo said as she stood up from her chair and followed Muzan upstairs to their room.

Everywhere in the house, all the windows are shut tightly and are covered with two silk curtains of red over a black curtain.

On the second floor, there are six rooms. Most of them shares a room with someone.
Inosuke and Zenitsu's room are the nearest to the stairs towards the first floor, opposite to their room is Kotoha and Douma's room, next to them is Yushiro's room, and next to his room is Gyutaro, Genya, and Sanemi's room, opposite to their room is Kanao and Ume's room, next to their room is Rui's room that is next to the master's bedroom that is beside the stairs towards the third floor.
