A man with short, blond hair and dark, brown eyes bursts through my door. He's wearing the usual Seeker uniform. A navy blue suit with long, black boots and the Shocker hanging from his hip. I stare at the Shocker for a few seconds before making eye contact with him.
"Show me your wrist." He says superiorly.
I can feel my anger beginning to boil. I hate how these little pricks think they're better than everyone, and he suspects I'm a Lunar because of the part of the city which I live in. But to his luck, I like showing them my scared wrist. I get little puzzled, embarrassed reactions from time to time. Just enough to make my day.
I reach out my right hand and put my wrist facing upward to reveal my scar. That's also part of the law, the tattoo must be on the right hand, not anywhere else.
He lets out a snort and shakes his head while chuckling.
"Oh, it's you. The emo orphan boy." He says while taking out his flashlight.
I feel my fists tightening, and my anger boiling. I go to open my mouth, but then I remember.
Ally is hiding.. I can't do anything stupid to get me arrested or they'll find her.
I'm usually not one to back down from Seekers. I've been arrested plenty of times before. Either I'm "talking back" or, they just have a rough time dealing with what my rules should be, since they don't know what I am. And I honestly don't blame them for being jumpy around me, but in my opinion it doesn't give them the right to treat me like garbage. I don't give a fuck who you are. If you don't treat me right, you're not earning my respect.
"I need to search the premises." He says, beginning to walk around my kitchen eyeballing everything.
I raise my eyebrow at him.
"And why exactly must you do that?"
He looks at me as if he were shocked that I dared to speak to him in such a tone.
"First off boy, you don't speak to a Seeker in such a way. It can and will get you in trouble. But I'll let you off with a warning because I'm in a good mood. Second of all, there were a lot of people sensing a disturbance from your house. They heard screaming and cursing. Plus, I heard a woman scream when I knocked on your door."
I can't stay quiet. There's so much shit going through my head, and I don't like the smug look on his face.
"Wow. You do your job so amazing. It took you what, half an hour to get here? You honestly don't give a fuck about anyone in this part of the city. You're just looking for your paycheck. And no one is here, I can reassure you."
He instantly scowls at my audacity. He runs up towards me and pins me against my livingroom wall with his arm against my chest. His face gets merely a few inches away from mine before he speaks in a low voice.
"Listen you faggot, you do NOT speak to your commanding Seeker in such ways. If you make one more sound, I will beat the living shit out of you and use my Shocker while I'm at it. Don't think you're such a big shot just because you don't have a tattoo. You're nothing but a pathetic, ugly ass orphan."
He spits on my cheek and I go to hit him but he lets go of me and I fall to the ground. I feel my whole body tense with anger. I want to smash his face against the damned the wall. I know I could, but his fucking Shocker is something I have no use against.
I am not immune to the feeling of having a Shocker enter my body. When I was younger, around my teenage years and in school, I apparently caused a lot of trouble. Got into many fights and bickering situations. But luckily for me, the few times I did get arrested, Lucinda always came to my rescue.
