Chapter 1

Lea's POV

"Send these to the Corliss and send my apologies to Mr. Miller, I can't make it tonight." I instructed my secretary, Denise. After that I let her go ahead as I have something to finished pa.

I lean my back on my swivel chair and rotate it to the left so I could view the city from up here.

When I decided to stand up, I received a message from my dad saying that he needs to see me at the mansion tonight.

I asked why but I didn't receive another message from him so my curiosity began to arise.

I wonder what will we be discussing about because he only do this once in a blue moon when it's really important.

I'm supposed to go to Dawn's place later tonight but I guess I'll just call her to say that my dad messaged me and I can feel it's an urgent. She'll understand naman as she knows my dad.

I walk near the mirror to fix myself then somebody barged in my office shouting my name so I immediately turned around with a shock plastered on my face.

"SALONGA!!!" Vice's enthusiastic greeting filled the room as he barged in, planting beso on my cheek. Stunned, I turned to face him as shock written all over my features.

"Oh my god! What are you doing here?" I asked the moment I recovered.

Bahagya siyang lumayo at umaktong nasaktan ko siya. "Ayun, ang ganda ng bungad ha. Halatang miss na miss mo 'ko." He said as he playfully rolled his eyes on me.

I didn't mind his acting and just stared at him. We haven't seen him for so long. He's been in California for 6 years straight due to family matters. We facetime each other naman pero iba pa rin kapag andito talaga siya.

"Alam kong maganda ako, hindi mo na kailangang ipahalata. Makatitig wagas eh."

Same old Vice. He never changed which I like and miss the most.

I lead him to the couch for us to sit and chat.

"When did you arrive?" I asked.

"Ngayon lang. Oh diba pagbalik ko ng Pinas ikaw agad ang binisita ko. Biro lang, ikaw kasi ang mas malapit eh."

"Does Dawn even know you're back?"

"Hindi, kasi balak ko kayong surprisahin. Good thing andito ka lang sa kumpanya nyo. Nga pala may pasalubong ako sa inyo pero andoon sa bahay. Pinauna ko na."

"Will you stay here for good na?" He nodded his head.

"May gagawin ba kayo mamaya? Dinner tayo sa bahay ko."

"Oh I can't. I have to go to dad's mansion tonight." I apologized .

"Bakit daw?"

"I have no idea but he sounded serious." I said as I recall his message earlier.

"Ano ka ba, para namang bago pa sa'yo. Palagi kayang seryoso si Tito."

Sabagay nga naman.

"So, how are you? My god, it's been years na kaya since I saw you." I diverted the topic.

"Ito, single pa rin. Hello? Kaya nga ako pumayag na pumunta at tumira roon kasi isa sa mga goal ko ay makahanap ng alam mo na." I chuckled as he narrated those as it's evident on his face that he's disappointed. "Eh ikaw? Kumusta ka?"

"I'm good." I casually answer.

"Yung totoo, Lei?"

Kumusta nga ba ako? I haven't given any thought about it for a long time so I don't really know what answer should I give.
