It all started with a dream.

Blasts of light flew in every direction, some returned with a corresponding force. The world was shook with the intense output of power. Corpses and dead bodies piled onto the ground, some were still alive, but were suffocating from the weight of those who aren't. The two sides consisted of both the dead and alive, some of which had wounds that should've killed them but they were still standing and fighting. The world was about to collapse, yet the fight did not stop.

Nico recognized some of the faces. There was a zombie who looked like Jason Grace, thrusting his javelin at those who dared to cross him. There was Frank Zhang, transforming into a different animal every second, lunging at his opponent and clawing them with every opportunity. There was Hazel Levesque on her horse, stabbing the monsters in the sky, leading those who were on pegasuses. There was Leo Valdez, radiating heat, setting anyone within five meters of him to be set on fire. There was Annabeth Chase, dagger in hand but with an arrow stuck on her arm. There was Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano, yelling commands and swinging her sword along with her two wolves. There was Percy Jackson, standing in a hurricane, daring anyone to get anyone NEAR him. And there was Will Solace, running everywhere, trying to heal fallen demigods, and Nico was at his side, shielding him from monsters.

Though the demigods were giving their best effort, pushing themselves to their limit, they were fighting a losing game. Their opponent sent blasts of dark power, fighting with the same effort. Envy, hate, anger burned in their eyes and soul. They were like humans, but weren't. They were of pure evil.

Nico stood there in his dream, he couldn't find words to describe the scene, all the words that humans invented for fear underestimated the terror the scene brought to him. The worst part? As much as he wouldn't want to admit it, he could feel that the scene was going to come true, the world would be set ablaze, the demigods would fight to their death and it would be the end, the final end.

"This is terrible right?'
Nico looked up to see the voice's owner, it's owner was old and wise, like an ancient god, but his eyes were full of emotion, like a human's. Nico had never seen this man in his life, but he felt a sense of familiarity in himself with this man. His presence brought warmth to his heart.

Nico didn't respond though, the flowers blooming on some corpses caught his eye, they were roses. They were red, like the color of the blood freshly spilled from wounds, Nico suspected that the red WAS died by the blood of the fallen, they signified a kind of beauty which was not commonly recognized by humanity, violence . War broke out all around the looming flowers, yet the flowers were even more beautiful than usual, they were like the violinist on the Titanic, even in the end, they still brought on the beauty of humans, emotion, feelings.

'I'm Chaos, the creator of the universe.' He started , not waiting for Nico to reply,he stared far away at the fight, expression grim, like what he worked really hard for had been destroyed, which was true.'As you might've guessed, I need your help.'

'No.' Nico answered immediately. 'I'm over with fighting any more wars, I don't want any of my friends to get hurt no more,' He didn't have to think through his answer, if there was anything that he would wish for, it was for the gods and primordials to all shut up and let them have a nice and peaceful life. He had fought three wars and three too much.

Chaos seemed to have already expected his answer. ' This is a glimpse of the future. Order, my nemesis will rise to wipe us all from existence. And as you can see, things aren't so great for us. Without cooperating, the world will end, and the universe I have created will collapse into nothing.' Chaos looked at him directly into his eyes, as if he depended on him to save the world from falling apart. "You would be saving your friends if you joined me. Please consider the offer."

Nico opened his mouth to decline the offer, but Chaos was nowhere to be seen, in a blink of his eyes Chaos was gone, leaving him alone watching the fight worsen and more blood being spilled.

Perhaps it was purposely urging him to join Chaos and fight another war, but Nico wouldn't believe in what the gods say after all what he had been through. He left the dream, waking up in his cabin, it was then midnight. He could hear wolves howling in the woods and owls screeching. It was usually comforting, but this time it felt like a warning.

Have you ever thought how you couldn't see how anything could go wrong except later you realized that everything was all screwed up?

Cause that was how Nico felt.
