People say ' Aw you've been through trauma? We understand, it's ok.'

Well, would you mind explaining how it is 'ok' for my algebra teacher to turn into a half snake monster and attempt to assassinate me? You can't? That's what I thought.

Let me explain. It all started on a Friday.

"So when X is equivalent to Y, then what would A be?' Miss Angela, my homeroom and algebra teacher, turned around and scanned the classroom. Her emerald green eyes are like a snake's filthy, venomous and daring anyone to lock eye contact with her. The moment she turned around students flinched at the sight of her and lowered their heads, no one liked to have interactions with her. If you got the question right, she'd say you were lucky, otherwise she'd give a five minute speech about the life story of her children and their successes and how we should learn from her sons to be successful in the future. Pretty lame, if you ask me.

"Rosina dear, can you answer me what is the value of A? " Upon hearing her sickening fake sweet voice calling my name I rolled my eyes and stood up. You know how people put it " just get it over with'.

"The value of A would be 69 ma'am." I answered.

Miss Angela walked towards my seat, with each step the sound of her heels clacking against the floor echoed through the silent room, her straight and silky jet-black hair flowing behind her. She picked up my notebook and examined it, pursing her lips.

"Why did you miss a step?" She slammed my notebook onto my desk, her green eyes seeming to be a serpent that was bracing its fangs, ready to slither right into my soul and poison it. I could feel the entire class staring at us, no one dared to murmur a word.

I knew that avoiding eye contact would mean that I was chickening out which would give her a chance to advance and start humiliating me like she would do to students who didn't please her. So I stared straight into her eyes as well, I have nothing to fear when I have done nothing wrong. She could scold me all she could if she wanted to, and it would only affect her image in the school and earn her a termination of employment letter(Though I was going to make my adoptive father send her one anyways). I've had enough of her attitude.

Tension was thickening by every second of our eyes' connection, soon it was so thick no one in the room dared to breathe or blink, afraid that they'd miss the moment of when the fight breaks out.

Then the bell HAD to ring.

Miss Angela tore the connection, not a trace of warmth on her face, not even a fake one like she usually wore. Probably because I was the first student she had encountered here who didn't avoid her fierce eye contact.

"Don't think the bell saved you, Miss Thorne. Meet me at my office at 4." She warned, giving Rosina one last glare. " Class dismissed."

-

Rosina took a deep breath and braced herself, she raised her hand to knock the door, but before she did Miss Angela opened the door. "Come in."

I entered her office and closed the door. Her office was dark, but considering the fact that she was new at Riverdale High, it was good enough already. I sat down on a chair in front of her desk, waiting for her to behold my punishment.

"Tell me Miss Thorne, how much do you know about Greek mythology?' She started, her voice was not in its usual sickening sweet tone, but a threatening whisper, like a snake's hiss before attack.

" I learnt most of it in Mythology class back in middle school, why do you ask? " I shot back.

Miss Angela smiled ever so slightly at my answer, her lips tugged, as if she found it funny that I wasn't one of those Greek Mythology experts. If possible, her hair seemed to be moving like one of those cartoons of a gorgon teachers displayed in middle school.

" Let me enlighten you then,' She got up from her seat and walked, no, slithered, towards me. The place of her body which was supposed to be legs was a snake's body. Her hair flew upwards, unveiling their true form, snakes. I backed up, sod it am I rat-arsed or is this a bloody illusion prank of some sort?

" This is a real life Greek Mythology creature Thorne." She approached me, seeming to be entertained by my reaction. " Here, today I will be a good teacher, I will give you the most realistic, best Mythology lesson anyone will have. and you will pay for it, with your death." She whispered the last three words right into my ear.

I couldn't help but shiver at the feeling of her cold hand placed on my shoulder, coils of a snake were attached to the lower part of her body starting from her waist, they were surrounding her, circulating the two people-no a monster and a human.

Rosina unleashed the silver dagger she always carried, the orphanage she had been in gave her that, though she had never thought it would be put up to use now. Certainly she never thought all the time there would be paid off somehow, assuming she survives.

" A trained demigod I see, last one I encountered was Percy Jackson. Let's see if you have the same skills, and nerve." Echidna (I think that's her name? Don't expect me to remember this kind of shit.)glowered over her. Rosina didn't know who the fuck was Percy Jackson and what she said about her being a trained demigod, but it was obvious that She wanted her dead.

She striked, Rosina didn't know where she got that sword, but she didn't have time to consider that matter, she raised her blade to block the blow. Echidna, obviously enraged that she successfully delayed her death, decided to strike again sideways. Rosina had been out of training since she left the orphanage at 13, but her ADHD and muscle memory kept her alive, she twisted her blade, carrying it upwards, and then stabbed Echidna's hand which was holding the sword, forcing her opponent to drop her weapon. Echidna shrieked, though Rosina knew it wasn't that simple, she held her ground, not daring to take her eyes off the monster in front of her. If she did, it meant death.

They held this position for a few seconds, until Echidna's snake body suddenly coiled around Rosina, tying her up. Echidna licked her lips, her face was so close to Rosina's she could smell what she had eaten for tea. " Finally some fresh meat and blood."

Rosina did the only thing she could think of to stay alive, she stabbed her dagger into Echidna's body, Echidna loosened her grip on her, screaming as she disintegrated into golden dust.

Rosina was alive, but what now?
