Taehyung was at work, but his day was going at a turtle's speed. He was desperately waiting for his lunch break to start. As it was a boring Friday afternoon, he was thinking about the next day. He was somewhat (read as 'very much') excited for the Saturday morning. He told himself it maybe because he wanted to get away from the tension at home or maybe because he actually liked the way the instructor taught them to cook, but we all know what's the reality.
It was 5 minutes to 01:30, when his lunch break would start, and he felt like he was
counting seconds for hours together. Don't take him wrong. He loves his job. But today has been a dull day. It was exam season, and most of the young people tend to forgo their love for the books, making their customer footfall half of what normally was.Yes, Taehyung worked at the central library as a front desk personnel. And it used to be his favourite place to be apart from his home sweet home! But since the day he met the 'evil man' with a bunny smile, raven locks and eyes that could hold galaxies, he felt restless, regardless of where he was.
So here he was sitting idly, playing with a pen cap when his phone started buzzing. He generally would leave his phone in a drawer below his desk, but because of continuous messages by a certain someone, he thought it would do better in his pocket.
But when he saw the name flashing on the caller Id, his brain went haywire.
"J" it said. That single letter made Taehyung almost lose his balance off the chair. He picked up the call in panic.
"Hel..hello" He whispered.
"Hey there!" The other rasped.
"What is it, Jungkook?"
"Would it be too much if I said I missed you too much and I wanted to hear your voice and I couldn't wait till tomorrow morning?"
"Jungkook..." Taehyung breathed out.
"Don't say my name like that, angel. I won't survive!" The caller said in a husky tone, which made Tae pull his legs together, instinctively.
He kept breathing into the reciever, not knowing how to respond to Jungkook. He was sure that if he spoke, he would definitely end up saying something stupidly weird.
"Hey, why are you so quiet? I need to hear your voice."
"What should I talk about?" Tae asked without any resistance.
"Anything! Did you eat your lunch?"
"No, my lunch break just started." Taehyung whispered in the phone, chewing on his bottom lip.
"Good, did you bring anything with you for lunch?"
"No. I would eat something from the cafeteria. I didn't get a chance to cook today."
"Great! Ummmm! Don't eat anything from there, okay? You will get a delivery in the next 2 minutes. One of my boys would drop a lunch box for you. I made something today. And don't worry, I cut down on the spice. Just let me know if you like it. Bye for now,
your delivery is coming in."The moment the line was cut, someone knocked on Taehyung's desk. He turned to see a person with a box in his hand.
"Taehyung, right? Jaykay sent this for you. Can I leave it here?"
"Sure. And thank you." Taehyung said, but unconsciously, he picked the box from the person's hand hurriedly. As soon as the person left, Taehyung almost ran to the cafeteria with the lunch box and his phone. He found himself a secluded place so that he could enjoy the meal on his own.
As soon as he sat down, he couldn't help but hurriedly open the lunch box. He wasn't even hungry, but the prospect of someone cooking something, especially for him, made him feel wanted.
