9. Battles Begin/A Rescue Mission.

Emerald Hill Village. Sonic's mother, Aleena Hedgehog, and her children, Sonia and Manik, were waiting patiently for the next move of either side. The villagers were fortunately spared from Ruby's Wispon-stealing spree. They had a moderate reserve of Wispons, charged with their own Wisps. Outside its borders, Ruby and Weiss were planning their move, following Starline's directive. But, as Tikal detected their energy, Gadget, Tangle and Whisper were sent to counter their moves.

The village was waiting patiently and quietly for any signs of enemies. Suddenly, the air turned ice-cold, as ice started forming from the ground up, freezing entire houses and trees, and freezing the villagers' limbs. However, a set of fire bullets landed on the ice, exploding in rains of fire, freeing most of the Mobians. Ruby, seeing the counter, jumped in, followed by Tangle.

Ruby: Oh, fancy seeing you here. Thought Sonic himself would try to stop us.

Tangle: (chuckle) Trust me, I'm not alone, hedgehog. But, why don't we see whose ice-skating skills are better.

Ruby: (pulling out her scythe in a stylish manner) Alright, lemur. Let's dance.

Outside the village, after Weiss completed a self-ice-generating reactor, Gadget stepped out, attacking with a Zapping Wispon. Weiss dodged the attack, and pointed her blade at Gadget.

Weiss: They sent a wolf to face me? How insulting. No matter, I shall dispose of you accordingly.

Gadget: Don't underestimate a gadget expert, Ice Queen.

The two engaged in sword-fighting, while Whisper, for the first time, entered the village, using Burst mode, fueled by a Chaos Emerald, to melt the ice.

As the battle ensues, the village is filled with the clash of weapons, the crackling of elemental powers, and the occasional explosion of fire and ice. The frozen houses and trees begin to thaw as Whisper's Chaos Emerald-powered Burst Wispon melts the ice, restoring the village to its original state.

Tangle and Ruby face off in the heart of the village, their movements a blur of speed and agility. Tangle, with her enhanced strength and agility from the Chaos Emerald, skillfully blocks Ruby's powerful scythe strikes.

Tangle: (grinning) Looks like you're losing your edge, Ruby. Maybe you should try a different line of work.

Ruby: (growling) I won't be defeated by a pesky lemur like you!

Ruby switches her scythe into a sniper rifle form and begins firing elemental shots at Tangle. Time seems to slow down as Tangle effortlessly evades each projectile, her quick reflexes and time manipulation at play.

Tangle: (smirking) You'll have to do better than that, Ruby! Your little fireworks won't work on me!

In another part of the village, Gadget engages in a fierce swordfight with Weiss. Their swords clash, emitting sparks of electricity with each strike.

Gadget: Your lightning-fast strikes won't faze me, Ice Queen! I'm not just a wolf, but a master of wielding gadgets!

Weiss: (gritting her teeth) You're more resilient than I expected, but I will bring you down!

The duel between Gadget and Weiss intensifies, their weapons clashing with increasing ferocity. Their movements are precise and calculated, as they test each other's skills and strength.

Amidst the battle, Whisper notices the portals opening around the village, abducting teenagers, including Sonic's sister, Sonia. Reacting swiftly, Whisper fires a laser shot through one of the portals, injuring Starline on the other side and momentarily disrupting the kidnapping.

Whisper: Not on my watch.

As the battle rages on, the sudden order from Starline echoes through the air, causing both Weiss and Ruby to retreat, leaving behind a trail of confusion and frustration.
