ziggy and her older brother, will, had always known that their family was keeping something from them. at every family gathering, the grown ups would argue about the two kids' "true father."

after years of eaves dropping on their conversations, ziggy and will discovered that there was something strange about their family. it mainly had to do with their father -who wasn't really in the picture. sure, there was an occasional birthday card every other year but ziggy and will were convinced that it was just their mom writing the cards to give the two siblings some hope that their dad was still out there.

last thanksgiving, ziggy and will did what they do best and hid behind a wall to listen to their mom and grandparents conversation. they were saying some pretty harsh things to each other. most of it was about the siblings father who they still couldn't identify.

ziggy and will made silly faces while the grown ups talked. mainly to lighten the mood but also to mock them.

"i am not telling them that their father is a god!" their mother had shouted.

the two kids froze and looked at each other. before will could stop his younger sister, ziggy jumped out from behind the wall.

"what did you just say?"
