After devastating losses in last season's ECAC Hockey tournament, Coach Vaughan turned his attention to the 2002-03 season as Steven Silverthorn takes over as the everyday goaltender for the Colgate Raiders. Scooter Smith was an incredible point scorer for Colgate as he was about to graduate at the end of the season. Speaking of Steven Silverthorn, he was the best goalie on the roster statistically and he leads Colgate to potential greatness this season. Colgate would beat Coach Vaughan's alma mattar in a three game series at Starr Rink to set up a rematch with Dartmouth. Colgate won game one of the series in an insane four overtime bloodbath but it would be all for not as Colgate would lose in game three to end the season. Don Vaughan would get an offer that could change everything in his life!
