Getting to know you

Taras PoV

I had woken up several hours ago, now I felt much better still a bad headache but not nearly as bad as earlier, this one was tolerable I met master Splinter and had been told their story it was incredible how everything fell into place for them to be here and it brought me nothing but joy to be apart of it. They had an amazing family unit that made my heart ache to watch but at the same time made me happy for them. To be so lucky I thought. Abby seemed happy as well her little butt tail wiggling about and she played with Mikey or let master Splinter slowly pet her on the head which, for me was a sign that he was extremely trustworthy if Abby deemed someone worthy enough to bring her guard down. As we sat and talked I felt completely at home Donnie felt like a doctor to me asking. So many questions about my health it seemed redundant at this point Mikey was like me we bounced off each other so easily into a flurry of conversation that only an adhd person could understand. Leo felt less distant and brought a warm comfort around him. Splinter had the wise old father figure feel and Raph...  Raph felt like a life time friend I felt safe with him and admired him. My mind just felt calm with him near which for me was something to marvel at. All of us had migrated to the couch area and were just chilling at this moment 

 " so what were you doing in a wetsuit anyways " Mikey asked me and then the realization that my paddle board was still abandoned by the river hidden in a bush not very well and my paddle by a trash can when I climbed the fire escape. 

" oh my god we have to go get my stuff"

Raph cocked an eyebrow at me "what the weird paddle thing"

"Well ya and my board it's broken but I don't want it to get thrown out or stolen." I sat back down

 " I'm sorry Mikey I was out SUPing and the board busted the fin fell out so I tried to get it back in but the current brought me further down stream than I wanted to go and than ya I never got a chance to get home because....."  she motioned to Raph "all of this"

 what is SUPing Don piped in

 " SUPing stand up paddle boarding it's like a giant surf board that you can paddle on like a kayak but standing" I explained my voice getting higher pitch at the excitement of explaining my sport.

 " you board!!" Mikey exclaimed 

" hell ya I do " I said striking a pose " I like all board sports skateboarding SUPing and surfing" " oh dude that's awesome we should go skating together"

 " all you guys skate" I asked looking around the whole room but lingering on Raph a little bit longer excited to see his answer they all shook their head in a yes fashion but Mikey grabbed me by my arms

 " ok we are totally going to go out like now" Mikey went to pull me up but Don pulled me back down. Mikey she just got over an unknown substance in her bloodstream she needs to rest. Don looked at me as if giving me the doctor look that said the words were not just for Mikey. 

"Ahh man" Mikey groaned I giggled 

"it's ok dude we can go at some point I mean if that's ok " suddenly it dawned on me that maybe they wouldn't want me back I mean I'm not typically accepted so easily. I just kind of fell into their life. what if they are just being nice and courteous right now.  I could feel Raph's eyes on me "of course it alright your one of us now"

 my heart jumped at the quick response and warmed at the thought of them actually wanting to hang out with me again. 

"Ok ya that would be awesome so when can I go get my board?" 

Leo was the one to answer "we will go out and patrol later tonight I think it's best you stay here for now till we can setup a safety net with your apartment and be sure no one is watching the area."
