The next day she wakes up to check her face. Her dad beat the absolute crap out of her. She's surprised she can still walk. The last thing that she remembers is getting in the shower and watching the blood and make sure the water go down the drain and thinking to herself well there goes my swimming season and no tank tops for me either . She's so used to it by now. Her mom usually had stopped it for her, but Momma wasn't there to stop it anymore she was saving up to go away. She didn't care where, as long as it was away from him. as she walked in the school that day, she made sure that she put ice on her face  the night before. so there would be no bruise. She sat down and her friends noticed long sleeves in 90° heat they asked her what happened. She said she was like them knowing exactly what was going on but knowing they could do nothing make them feel helpless the three girls besides her that were in their little group, walked her to the bathroom and put her in a bathroom stall. They asked her how many bandages they need to get she said look in her bag she had a suture kit. She looked at her back this morning. It was bad. She told him to put on the gloves, grab the three bottles of Orajel. and put it all around her skin were the stitches were going to be. and so they did then they asked her what they needed to do next. she told them the needles are already threaded and go ahead and start sewing her up and they did. They asked her why she stayed why she didn't run away years ago she reminded them I stay because I don't have the money to go away that's why I work three jobs. and go to school they offered their places she told them. I would love to take that but a few more years and I will be out of here anyway. they told her a few more years and he might kill her. she said you'll have to worry about people asking about me what happened to me where I'm at and why my family won't see me at the house since they come over often Ash spoke up saying so you're going to deal with this for two more years until you can leave, June said if I have to, I will, Momma didn't get a chance to leave the way she would've wanted but I'm going to leave the way she would've wanted me to. The girls finish stitching her up. she told him to hand her an ibuprofen or two and they grabbed her some water before they  exited the bathroom. she walked her class noticed her hip was dislocated. Didn't even notice it yesterday, so she accidentally bumped into a wall hard enough to pop it back in and went to class. at lunch the boys asked how bad the damage was the girls answered it's been worse but it sure is hacks been better. They asked her if she slept at all that night or if she was in that much pain she told them she's becoming numb to the pain that afternoon like every afternoon, she drove ash and Xavier to their house not knowing Johnny was going to be waiting for her as she pulled in, she saw Johnny's car tempted to pull back out after she dropped her two best friends off Johnny ran up and opened  June's door before she could say anything her body betrayed her she practically jumped into his arms and hugged him to say hello. he said well hello to you too cutie she blushed and hid a smile behind her hand and ran inside, plopped down on the  bed and try to get some rest, Johnny whispered in her ear. How about we go to that park today yeah? She shook her head. Yes, even though she was exhausted and hurting. They flirted all the way there and flirted all the way back. he asked her what she liked to do her not really knowing how to answer the question turned his own question on to him to give her a chance to think he answered with some thing that was very similar to her. He told her about all of his passions, music being one of them something that she's been too nervous to approach even know her mother was very musically, inclined, and her father as well. She knew her singing voice was different than everyone else's. It wasn't bad. just different before she knew it. Her favorite song came on and like normal when she felt comfortable or when she was alone, she started singing along, forgetting that he was there for a second. He smiled and looked at her and said so you sing she blushed and said I am so sorry you had to hear that, he looked at her strangely and asked why are you apologizing? It was good she told him I'm not as good as everyone else in my family we're all pretty much musicians, along with whatever else interested us. They start flirting every time they talk. He starts making fun of her for when she messes up when she speaks even though her messing up when she speaks is not really her fault her father threw her down the flight of stairs when she was young, so she messes up from time to time When she speaks unbeknownst to him, of course he asked her why she doesn't stay out later than 4 o'clock. She tells him she always has a lot to do on the farm since her mom passed he asked her. does your dad not help she answered him not really he's normally tired from dealing with people at work and he usually has to feed the cows so everything else is left to me.
