"You sure you want me ta go witchu?" Von asked Lo as she held his hand tightly.
"Yes, I haven't seen my daddy in almost 6 years. I cant see him alone." She'd called her dad last week and told him she'd wanted to see him. They'd decided to meet at Jayda's coffee shop.
They walked in the building as they saw a tall man, about 6'5, in a casual outfit. Lo smiled, if this was her dad 5 years ago he'd be in a suit.
"Daddy!" She said as she ran to him and hugged him. She let a few tears slip, she was happy to see him.
After they let go her father looked to see Von, since he was unfamiliar with him he shook his hand. "You are?" He said a little rudely.
"My name Dayvon, I'm your daughter's boyfriend." He said as Willow walked back over to stand at Von's side. Von wanted to make a good impression, even though it didn't seem like her parents made much of an effort to find her.
He didn't say anything back as they sat down and ordered their coffee and food. Jayda hadn't been there, she had a new boyfriend so she had been just popping in and out every week. Willow wondered why her father acted like he had a right to judge her boyfriend. Although she loved her father, he wasn't the best father to her growing up. They talked for a while and got caught up with each other. Her father seemed very different it made her happy.
"Me and Von have been together for almost 2 months, we met at our friends coffee shop." She told her father getting him more familiar with Von after he excused himself to answer a phone call from durk.
"You think this will last long? Since he cheated on you?" He asked her. He had heard the interview and wasn't impressed. He believed she had better options..
"Well yes, I believe people change. He's shown change, everyone is capable of it. Take you for example." She said to him. It surprised him because she didn't talk much as a kid.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, you ignored Renee's abuse forever. I still don't know if you're aware of the things she did to me." She spoke her heart. She wasn't sugar coating anything, she was expecting an apology for the things she had to endure.
"Abuse? You call being grounded abuse?" He asked taking a sip from his hot coffee.
"Grounded? Locked in a closet while you're on a trip is grounded? Daddy how do you explain the bruises i got everyday, i've never been clumsy. You would've known that if you were around then." She said back
He gave her a look of disapproval and shook his head. "That's why you ran away? For attention?" He asked. Willow looked at him with a shocked expression.
"That's what you took from that? Attention? Oh my god." She said grabbing her stuff and began to walk out. She stopped and looked at him for a second. "Daddy i thought you changed, what did you want me to meet you for?"
"Um, can you sit back down so i can explain it to you?" She obliged still keeping her purse on her shoulder and ate her croissant silently. He thought before he spoke up. "The company is in shambles and I tried to find so many other solutions before it came to this one but, i need you to go through with an arrangement to a marriage." She ate the last bite of her croissant and shook her head before just walking out. She was over it, immediately. "You're not even going to think about it Honey Bun?"
"To be honest i'm over you, I never want to see you again." She said finally, and walked out of the building. She saw Dayvon about to walk in for her and he got confused.
"We leavin? Y'all was havin a good conversation when i dipped." He asked walking to the car with her and unlocking it.
"No, they'll never change." She said sitting in the passenger seat and put her face in her hands. She screamed into them and began crying. "What am I worth? Like truly, even my own parents don't want me. They only want me when it benefits them, it's like what did they even have me for?" She rambled and hiccuped as she cried harder. She didn't understand what was wrong with her, why she couldn't get the love she deserved.
"Willow don't question yo self worth because of the next nigga. You are a strong, beautiful woman." He said as he pulled off, his heart hurt for her. "You did that on yo own, yeah you got therapy and shit, but you put the effort in to not wanting to be like them." Her cries got harder as she started hyperventilating.
"But why don't they want me?" She felt her inner child screaming for that love she deserved.
"Ion know mama, they idiots for not wantin you. They got they own things wrong wit dem. It's not you, it's whatever fucked up thing they got going on. Some people don't need to have kids." He said pulling into his driveway. Willow was still crying hard so Von Unbuckled her and carried her in the house.
He walked all the way upstairs and put her in some of his clothes so she could lay down and take a nap. He knew he was treating her like a little kid right now, but she needed the love and care. She was hurting so bad. She eventually cried herself into a nap fell asleep on vons bare chest.
He looked at Willow and got angry. He didn't get angry at her or himself, he was angry at the people who hurt her. He got on his phone and scrolled through his contacts, that one familiar contact that got him the information he needed on people..
"Hello? Von what you calling me for?" A females voice said.
"Listen asian ian on that.. I need you to find however much you can on Willow's dad." He spoke very quietly trying not to wake up willow.
"Oh she got yo ass pussy whipped." She laughed as she got up and went to her computer. "What's his name?"
"Jordan Rowe, i think."
"Yeah dats him. Damn he got sum coin... oop pretty soon he won't." She said cackling at the information she's getting. "What he do?" She asked knowing Von wanted to kill him.
"The less you know the betta. Send me the information." He said hanging up. He was willing to do whatever for willow, even if that meant catching another body in the process.
