Sook-won hastily mounted his motorcycle as the morning sun began to emerge over the horizon. His thoughts were still clouded by the lingering details of the dream that had disturbed his sleep. He was too preoccupied with his thoughts to notice the passing of time, which put him in jeopardy of being late for work.

An elderly woman crossing the street attracted his attention as he sped through the streets, dodging traffic. Her feeble body staggered and lost control as the bus sped up to her. As Sook-won veered in the direction of the woman, his heart skipped a beat as instinct took over.

His blood was suddenly flooded with an otherworldly force, giving him strength and speed much beyond what was humanly possible. He sprinted to the elderly woman in time, snatching her up in his arms, and dove out of harm's way.

Sook-won gently rose to his feet with the elderly woman secure in his arms as the bus rumbled by, its tires squeaking on the concrete. The assembled crowd let out a series of stunned gasps, their eyes wide with amazement at the almost impossible happening they had just witnessed.

In astonishment and confusion, Sook-won carefully set the elderly woman down. He spoke with a worried tone, asking, "Are you okay? I'm so sorry about that. Please be more cautious."

The elderly woman looked up at him with her eyes glistening with appreciation. I don't know how to thank you, young man, for saving my life. Thank you."

Shaking his head, Sook-won made a flimsy smile appear on his lips. "No need to thank me; I'm just happy I could be of assistance. Please look after yourself."

After saying those words, he hopped back on his motorcycle, leaving a puzzled crowd and an elderly woman in awe of the enigmatic stranger who had saved her.

Sook-won's thoughts were clouded with awe and perplexity as he made his way to work. Unbelievable strength and speed were demonstrated, confounding all logic and reason. It appeared that the dream, which he had written off as mere fancy, was now permeating his waking reality and bringing with it a mysterious new power.

When Sook-won arrived at the delivery office, he discovered his coworkers giddy with anticipation and a birthday cake on the break room table. It was actually his birthday today, but he had forgotten. His lips pinched at a bittersweet smile as he acknowledged how trivial his particular day appeared in the greater scheme of things.

As Sook-won blew out the candles, his coworkers crowded around and sang "Happy Birthday" in an uncharacteristically off-key fashion. Although he smiled and accepted their good wishes, he was thinking about something else as he continued to process the amazing happenings of the day.

While everyone was having a good time, his mind began to wander to the dream, the enigmatic vampire encounter, and the manifestation of his own paranormal abilities. He was tormented by questions that ached for answers but were hopelessly out of his reach.

Sook-won made his deliveries as the day dragged on, his thoughts turning inward. The mysteries that were playing out around him seemed more important than the dull tasks of his job. He yearned to learn more about his paranormal nature and to unlock the mysteries of his newly discovered powers, but the way forward remained unclear and unpredictable.
