AN: Welp, this is the chapter that starts it all. Yoru is wearing the outfit from the cover and the note at the beginning so no need to put up a pic. Anyway, this will be in Yoru's pov since Shinichi is unconscious, but it's in the third person, and the narration still has the elements from TH so... Yeah, let's start.

Just to remind you:

"Hi!"= Talking in English

"Hi!"= Talking in Japanese

"Hi!"= Words on signs in English

"Hi!"= Words on signs in Japanese

Hi! = Narrator

Hi! = Flashback

'Hi!' = Thoughts

"Hi!" = Talking in flashback

"Hi!" = Talking on the phone

Hi! = Words on paper (unless it's at the beginning or end of the chapter /it had pov written beside it)

(Hi!) = Author-chan talking

That's what I meant, now enjoy reading!~

Disclaimer: I don't own DCMK it belongs to the great Aoyama-sensei~ I only own the story and my OC~

Narrator pov. At Tropical Land that night~

Yoru was walking around one last time to explore and scan the whole place before going home for the night.

Her boss at her part-time job in the cafe gave her tickets to come to Tropical Land because he knows how her father's death anniversary was coming up the day after tomorrow and wanted to relieve her before then, she was grateful to have such a kind and understanding but strict boss.

Since it became a habit passed down from her father to scan any new place she goes to before going home to find more notable details and other parts she might want to visit or even new entrances, she was doing that now.

She thought about the murder case she heard people talk about that happened at the Mystery Coaster, apparently, someone got decapitated, though she heard that a famous high school detective solved it.

Kudo Shinichi, the so-called modern Holmes.

From what she heard and saw in newspapers and TV about him, she honestly had only one sentence to describe him.

He's a naively ignorant and arrogant brat.

Sure, he's smart and obviously a genius since he solved a lot of cases that even the police couldn't, but she could tell by the smile he has in his pictures and videos that he just thinks of it as a game, never considering his own life being endangered the more he keeps attracting attention.

She knows that people will call her heartless if she said that out loud though, especially with how many fangirls he has, so she'd never say it out loud.

Besides, she probably thinks that because she's jealous of how naive he is and how easy he has it compared to her, he's willingly living alone, both his parents love him and are alive, and he has a name that doesn't mean that he's some curse.

She sighed, 'No Yoru, stop thinking like that. Papa taught you better than to let jealousy control you.' she shook her head as she thought that just as she took a turn down an alley.

She paused as the smell of blood entered her nose and she looked down.

Only to see a child in an oversized jacket and pants, unconscious with a big head wound that was still bleeding heavily.
