It's finally the day that I have to attend my father's birthday party.
I got ready an hour ago hinihintay ko nalang na sunduin ako ni Zathrian.
Gusto niya kasi na sabay daw kaming pumunta.
We both arrived just in time for the party.
"Why do I feel nervous?" I asked hoping to get an answer.
"Maybe because we haven't seen him in a long time."
"Yeah." I just said calming myself down.
My brother turned to me. "Hey, It's gonna be okay," he said tapping my head.
We entered the manor and gave our invitations. As we walked in we were greeted by guests who knew us.
"Vlanca, how are you?"
"Connor, hi," I said joyfully as I saw my childhood friend.
Nagkakilala kami ni Connor noong bata pa kami, he used to play with us a lot when we were kids, business partner kasi ng mga magulang niya ang Dad namin.
"How are you Milaya?"
"I'm Vlanca. And I'm good, how about you?"
"I'm doing well, thank you."
"Do you still race?" He asked.
"Sometimes nalang, I want to busy myself with the school."
"Same old Vlanca, always putting school first huh?"
We were catching up on each other's lives and so busy making each other laugh that I didn't notice someone behind me.
"Oh my God beshy kooo!" Connor and I both turned behind me.
"Miss Elle? What are you doing here po?"
"Lah bawal ba beh?" She said acting offended. Nakalagay pa ang kamay sa dibdib.
"Ahm I mean I didn't know na kilala mo po ang Dad ko."
"Ah oo ininvite din ako beh." She said and started pulling me somewhere. "Dun tayo beh.
She pulled to a table. Dun ko lang napansin na halos lahat ng mga professors ko ay nandito.
Pati na rin si Prof- I mean Miss Amory.
I sat down next to Miss Elle at pinagitnaan nila akong dalawa ni Miss Amory.
I smiled at her as I sat and she just looked at me coldly.
'Okay lang naman siya kahapon ah.'
"Distinguished guests, welcome to the Morelle Manor." The emcee said. "I am very honored to present to you our lovely Mr. Henry Morelle!" He gestured to the stairs and then our father came out.
The guests were clapping and cheering for him as he walked down the stairs.
The party continued normally, though Zathrian and I haven't talked to our father yet.
We can't talk to him unless he calls us.
Nang sabihin na pumunta sa harap ang mga gusto sumaya ng slow dance ay agad pumunta si Tanya at ang bago niyang boyfriend sa gitna para sumayaw.
Iniirapan lang siya ni Vier dahil inaasar ito kanina ni Tanya.
"Edi kayo na masaya." Nalulungkot naman na ani ni Miss Elle sa tabi ko.
"Ikaw po Miss Amory bat di po kayo maghanap ng kasayaw?" I asked.
"I don't want to dance with just somebody." She said coldly and drank the liquor in her glass.
"Hayyy nako Vlanca wag mo na tanungin yan palibhasa naka move on na yung ex niya, kinalimutan ba naman." Sabi ni Miss Elle halatang lasing na.
"Shut up, Elle!" Asar na sabi ni Miss Amory at umirap pa.
I just laughed at them both and watched the people dance.
I was drinking champagne when a hand appeared in front of me.
"May I have this dance?" Connor asked me.
I looked up and smiled at him.
"Sure," I said and took his hand.
He took me to the dance floor with all the other guests dancing around with their partners.
I could feel a glare behind me but I brushed it off not caring.
We were dancing when I bumped into someone behind me.
It was Miss Amory.
She didn't say anything but just took my hand and stole me from Connor.
"M-miss Amory, you look drunk po, are you okay?" I asked concerned.
"Keep dancing with me, любовь."
"I thought you didn't want to dance po." I questioned.
Tinaasan niya ako ng kilay. "Are you questioning me, Morelle?"
We just stared at each other while dancing, not caring if anyone sees us, not caring if the music stops, not caring about the stares we got.
I didn't even realize that we got to the part of the Manor's balcony.
I didn't know why but I had this overwhelming urge to hug her.
So I did, I hugged her.
"Kung ano man po pinagdadaanan niyo Miss, sana maging okay na po kayo." Sabi ko habang ang kamay ko ay nasalikod niya.
She froze where she was standing.
"ты не знаешь, как сильно я скучаю по тебе" She spoke in Russian. (You don't know how much I miss you)
I didn't know what to say, hindi ko naman siya maintindihan eh.
I felt my heart beat so fast. I don't know why but it always does when I'm with her.
'Stop it Vlanca! Y ou arent supposed to be feeling like this!'
We were silent for a moment when a sudden loud bang echoed throughout the manor.
The last thing I knew was the guests screaming and running out of the house.
I immediately looked for my friends and my brother, they were at the other table beside us earlier.
Miss Amory was alarmed too so she quickly took my hand and we ran to a room in the house.
She put me in a corner and held my shoulders.
"Stay here Morelle! Do you understand?!" She asked.
"Pero po-"
"Tell me you understand!"
"Yes, Miss." I shut my mouth. I crossed my fingers behind my back.
She left the room and before I knew it I was alone.
