A crack like a whip pulled me out of my dais and back to reality, I wiggle out of my foot lock and start to run, for some strange reason my wiggling actually got me out this time. With not much time I skid to a stop at the exit and quickly turn my head to the royal chairs, I just wanted to see where Swan had gone after they took me but I'm not prepared for what I see. Swan stands at the mercy of her mother, surrendered to her. The ice queen stands above her with her lips pursed and judging by the hand sized mark on Swan's cheek, it was one heck of a slap. Out of pure reflex I scream, scared of what might happen to her. Then I realize my mistake after I'd done it. All eyes immediately avert from the royal family and stare at me. Just as I stream from the room, I hear a simple but horrifying sentence.
"Well, seize her you useless guards!" The scream is pure, filling the room, echoing off the walls, and projecting back to me.
I flee from the room, blood roaring in my ears and my cloak billowing into the the shadows of trees and small houses lining the snow coated roads. I can't tell wether it's night or day judging by the sun. Because duh there like is no sun.
I have been running for a long time and it's starting to show. My hair loops and swirls behind me and for a mere second I have the urge to braid it so it will stop from blocking my sight, but the realization hits me after. I don't want this to be my hunger games I want this to be a mere dream, and that would make it too much like the hunger games, this is my world I guess it will be known as the chasing games, yah I guess. A few steps after my thoughts drift to rest. I don't know when I can but I really need to, the fear of capitation fueled me then but even now I have to admit my exhaust.
Only then do I hear it. The most melodic sound I've heard, a sound almost magical to the ears. In fact I'm almost certain that it is magical. As I stop by a tree to take a breather I see it. Chimes, not just any chimes fairy lore chimes. They are the best chimes of all. The tinkling fills my head and for a minute I forget my position, I forget what I am doing and that I am being hunted. I shake my head and try to get it out of my ears, I could have been lost in the music forever and not realized the attack when it happened. See that's the trick with fairy lore things. They make you forget time, I could have been standing here until the guards caught up to me that wouldn't have been to good! However I work with fairy lore so I'm mostly trained in how to ignore the music.
Clang! The sound fills the air and covers up the sound of the chimes. My head is throbbing but I still manage to slip away from the guards who have me captured. I take them by surprise as the largest one holds up his frying pan and try's to hit me over the head with it again. I fly out from their captive circle and clutching my head I run out into the mystic woods.
