A little while later I looked back and almost hallucinated him chasing me. That's when I realized how hungry I was. Of coarse being my silly little self and not looked for what was in front of me, I tripped into a river and fell face forward into a glittering pool of clear water under a massive waterfall. It was beautiful, except the only thing that didn't make sense was that the water was running from the waterfall, upwards. Make that 2 things if you count the part about me being in winter! It made no sense but I happily noted the medium sized silver tailed fish swimming around my feet. I might as well use it to my advantage and get this horrible stench off of me. I stripped off my cloak and undid my messed up hair. Throwing my dress and undergarments aside, I slipped into the warm water and ran my fingers up my hair, gently pulling at the knots and tangles in it. The water burns at my palms so I raise them up and dry them on my cloak. It's always been that way when I bathe, my palms are the only sensitive spot when it comes to water. It also makes it extremely hurtful to wash my hands everyday. I mean you can see why as well, fire and water don't really go together. I washed up using some sweet smelling plant, that smelled unusually like vanilla beans.
After drying my hair and body with my lit palms, I grabbed my dress and threw it in the water, beating at it furiously with my feet. I then proceeded to drag it up next to me on the smooth rock's surface and dry it as well. The same was done to my thick cloak and this time I made sure to heat it up a little more so it was warm and cozy. I perched my feet up and started to pull out some of the splinters and clean the deep cuts in them, wincing at my ever touch. My stomach rumbled so I looked down at the many glinting fish below decided to take a break and fry some fish up. I threw my dress on and rolled up the sleeves, preparing myself for the catch.
After catching the fish and skewering them, I quickly lit a fire wit my hands and roasted them like marshmallows. Yummy. The very smell of the pond was soothing in itself. Lilacs and other unnamable flowers ran around the pond in clusters, and bright green moss ran up the sides of rocks in the crystal water. It seemed as if all my troubles were melting away, thoughts of the chase and home slipped my mind as i ate and swirled my feet around in the water. I hummed a childhood nursery song and smiled awestruck at the rush of the water headed towards the sky.
