Y/n's Point of View:

I stood patiently in line gripping my tote bag, which was overflowing with sheet music and paperwork. Feeling the brisk New York air fill my lungs. There were three people in front of me, ever Since Karen announced her closing date, producers have been rushing to find a new Satine. And it seems every girl in their early thirties to forties has signed up for the role. I listened in on the girls in front of me,

"Do you think Aaron's in there?" One squealed while the others were fangirling,

"I wouldn't be here if Aaron wasn't in the cast. I hope I can get the role, just so I can know him" The other girl exclaimed

I scoffed quietly. I don't understand why most of these women were trying the get the part because of 'Aaron Tveit' I seem to be the only one not completely fangirling over this forty-year-old man.

I hummed quietly to myself before I and the three other girls were ushered into a room to warm up and audition.

"I'm Celina," a brunette girl said introducing herself to me

I shook her hand

"Y/n,"  replied smiling

Another girl with short blonde hair smiled at me

"Mary," She nodded toward me

"Nice to meet you," I said as the other butt in

"I'm Ariana, I've been in four Broadway shows and it's gonna be five soon. Do you have a pen? I can sign something for you" She boasted while smiled

"Oh. I'm fine" I said hesitantly

She rolled her eyes as all four of us went to a corner to warm up for auditions

I texted my boyfriend quickly

'Going in for auditions, won't answer for a while

I shoved my phone in my pocket feeling it vibrate a few times.

I took a deep breath.

Shawn doesn't like me auditioning, and when he found out I was auditioning for Moulin Rouge. He exploded about how I'm doing it to get other men and show off my body. And really I just need this job to get away from him, I don't have the money right now. It's not like he hurts me, so I can't have much to complain about.

----

I think the auditions went well. I just hope it was good enough.

I exited the Metro station looking around at the busy city, I grabbed my phone and read the messages Shawn sent.

'Its a waste of your time and money

'you're not going to get it.'

You need to find a real damn job.'

 'Fucking whore.'

I put my phone back in my pocket, inhaling and exhaling. I started to walk home, looking at the Moulin Rouge sign shining behind me, watching people excitedly enter to see the show of a lifetime. I smiled to myself before continuing on.

Aaron's Point of View:

As I took my bow every one was screaming and clapping, it never gets old. We did another overall bow before running offstage. After getting away from backstage, towards the dressing rooms, I caught up with Karen,

"I hope they found someone," she said sighing

"Hopefully, do you wanna ask after stage door?" I asked, she nodded as we parted towards our dressing rooms. I walked into mine and quickly got out of my costume before grabbing a gold Sharpie and heading toward the stage door with everyone else

Karen and I walked back into the theater together with Ricky before running around trying to find our director

"Alex! We have a question" Karen called out as soon as we found him

"What?" he asked confused

"Did you find a Satine today?" Karen asked distressed

"We think we found a few good ones, we're calling for callbacks tomorrow, they're scheduled for Thursday so they have time to learn some choreography. One stood out to us though. She was extraordinary. We just hope her dancing is as good as her voice" He shrugged

"What's her name?" I asked

"Y/n, I think her last name is L/n. I think that's right, Y/n L/n" Alex said before waving us off and walking away

"Y/n L/n?" Karen asked herself

"Never heard of her," We both said at the same time before laughing

"Do you want to stalk this 'Y/n L/n' in my dressing room?" I asked

"Always" Karen replied laughing

We made small talk before walking into my dressing room,

we got in and I pulled out my laptop while she pulled up Instagram,

she searched up her name before finding a few profiles,

"Anything to do with theater?" I asked googling the name

"No, no, and yes. This last one. It shows a lot of her with mics on and her profile picture is of a (Hair colored) person and some guy seeing (Show of choice)" She shrugged

I looked at the profile picture that Karen shoved in my face

if that was her. She was really pretty, she looked like a Satine.

"Oh look, 'Y/n L/n, a(n) (Ethnicity) actress, part of the 'Actors' Equality Association.' Y/n has been in one Broadway North American tour of (Production of choice) playing the role of (Character) for a total of two and a half years.'" I said reading off the article

"At least she has the experience," Karen said grabbing my laptop and trying to find more information while I scrolled through her Instagram

"She has a boyfriend," I said looking through the pictures

"She has a boyfriend," I said looking through the pictures. She looks happy

"Aaron. I think you're the only person in the world to be as hot as you are with no girl." Karen said hitting the back of my head

"Shut up," I said laughing, Giving Karen her phone back

"I think she's good for the role" Karen smiled, handing me my laptop back and closing her phone.

"Yeah," I said putting my laptop in my bag

"When will we find out?" Karen asked enthusiastically

"Why would I know?" I asked her

"I don't know," Karen said laughing

"Well, goodnight. We should probably leave" I said standing

"Yeah. Night Aaron" She said going to her dressing room.

I waved her off before opening my laptop again, finding that Karen left it on a youtube video of the woman singing in her production of (Production)

She was singing (Song)  And it sounded really good, really. Really good.
