TWS: SCREAMING ARGUING

Y/n's Point of View:

I had been enjoying lunch while watching a show with Shawn, it seems as if Shawn had forgotten every text he'd sent me. And he never brought up the audition, so I didn't either.

I heard a loud ring coming from my phone, I paused the show and stood up to find my phone somewhere in my cluttered kitchen

"Who is it?" Shawn asked looking back at me

"No idea," I said looking at the unknown number

"Hang up," He said eating his food again

I answered it, knowing full well it could be my casting agency

"Hello, is this Y/n L/n? I'm Sharon from the Actors Equality Association" The woman spoke

"Yes, this is her," I said smiling, my boyfriend looking back annoyed

"We received a call about your auditions yesterday, they want you to come to callbacks, today at 4 pm. Would you like to confirm this?" Sharon said

"Yes please, I'll be there. Thank you so much" I exclaimed

"Okay, I'll let them know. Have a nice day, bye," she said hanging up

"What was that about?" Shawn asked

"I got invited to callbacks from yesterday's auditions" I smiled, writing on my calendar for today

"Shocking," My boyfriend said clearly unamused

"Aren't you happy for me? This is huge, just the opportunity" I said looking at him

"No, because its a show for women to show their bodies in every way possible," he scoffed

"No its not, its a Broadway show. God, it's been a year since I've been on a Broadway stage if I get this. I could be someone." I said gripping the countertop

"But you won't. There's more talent than you think. You think 'Oh I went on tour for 2 and a half years' That doesn't mean anything, they were desperate. You didn't even do callbacks for that show, they just chose the best out of the few who auditioned, you just happened to get it. That's not going to happen again," He said annoyed

"Shawn? What happened to you? Why don't you believe in me like you used to? We wouldn't have met if it wasn't for (Production)," I said tears forming in my eyes

"Because I've faced reality, you think we could live as a stage manager and failing actress? No one of us had to man up and it clearly not you" Shawn said standing up and walking to the other side of the island

"I'm not a failing actress," I said looking at him

"You haven't booked a show in almost a year, how many auditions did you go to?" He exclaimed

"I got roles, I got asked but every fucking time you would shut it down. Make travel plans, not letting me do my job! I'm not going to let you do it this time" I said tears rolling down my face

"You are not going to those auditions Y/n. Do you understand?" He said screaming at me, he grabbed my wrist harshly

"I will if I want to" I screamed back

His grip tightened, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't pull away

"Shawn! What is wrong with you," I said struggling to pull my hand from his grip

"You need a fucking reality check, you're never going to be successful." He said looking at me

I finally pulled away from his grip and ran to our shared room as fast as I could. I shut the door, locking it behind me.

I rubbed my wrist, already red. It was going to bruise, no doubt

I stood up, wiping my eyes. I walked over to my closet, picking out an outfit to wear to callbacks,

I wore, (Outfit), I did my (Color) hair, pulling the sides out of my face, and then applied (Skintone) foundation before applying the rest of my makeup.

I looked at the ring that was tightly wrapped around my middle finger,

it's a promise ring,

Shawn gave it to me the day tour closed

-FLASHBACK-

I sat in my dressing room for the last time, everyone left to party. I was still packing my stuff, I sat on the almost empty counter, tears still rolling down my face. It was my last show for (Production) and I'll never get to do it again. I sat there crying for a long time until the door opened.

Shawn looked at me and smiled, free from his all-black clothing

"Y/n, why aren't you partying with everyone else?" He asked embracing me and wiping the tears falling from my eyes

"It's the last show of my debut. Most actresses don't get much more after that" I said exhaling

"Hey, look at me." He said. I looked into his deep green eyes

"I know you're going to get more shows booked, you are extraordinary." He said pulling something out of his pocket

"I wanted to give you this earlier but it was never the right time," He said putting the ring in my hand,

the inside is engraved,

'Y/n L/n, (Character) in (Production), North America tour, 2020-2022'

I smiled looking at the ring,

"Thank you," I said kissing him lightly on the lips

"It's a promise ring, because I promise that I'll always support you, and love you. Because your an amazing actress," he said looking at me

I laughed,

"I love you," I said hugging him

He hugged me back,

"I love you too,"

-FLASHBACK-

I looked at the ring, for a few minutes. Then I took it off and set it on the bathroom counter before grabbing my bag and walking out the door, not acknowledging Shawn

he scoffed as I shut the door,

I walked to the metro station to get to the studio for callbacks.

I looked at the moulin rouge sign again,

I need this job.

I need to get away from him, he's not who he used to be.

--

Callbacks happened quickly, it was only me and four other girls. They had us do choreography and such.

"We have all made our decision, on behalf of the moulin rouge team, we want to say thank you to everyone for your time. And welcome to our new Satine. Y/n L/n," One person said motioning toward me

"Thank you," I said quietly, tears in my eyes.

I got the part, I did it.

"You may all leave, Y/n. If you could stay," he said while everyone left other than me.

He handed me a script alongside schedules and a phone number list.

"We want to invite you to tonight's show, we'll get you and you can meet the cast tonight. You start rehearsals with all of them tomorrow." He said offering me two tickets

"You may bring a plus one." He added

I took the tickets, I thought for a moment. He doesn't deserve to see this show

"I only need one, thank you." I said handing the other ticket back

He nodded

"Thank you so much for this opportunity" I added before leaving
