Sa'nu - Mom, Mommy

𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒇
Jake sat patiently waiting by his little girl's side. Waiting for her to wake up. After days off not waking. Jake never gave up, he didn't lose hope. He had told Neteyam that it wasn't his fault. "You didn't know that this would happen. So don't blame yourself" He had told him, but it still felt like it was his fault, but it made him feel a little happy that his dad didn't blame him.

Jake who had dozed off with his head hanging forward. He sat beside his daughter not getting any sleep because he thought he would miss when his little girl would wake up. Liyanin slowly opened her eyes and looked around. She didn't know what had happened. Jake felt the movement beside him, at first he thought it was nothing, that his imagination was fooling him again, but this time it wasn't.

"Sempu" Jake heard the voice he thought he would never hear again. He became wide awake and saw his little girl looking at him with tired eyes.
"My little girl" Jake said and brought her into his arms, not letting her go. He was crying with joy and relief that his little girl was back.

"Neytiri!!!" Jake called out to his wife who was outside and as she heard his voice she became worried, she had thought the worst. So Neytiri ran inside the mauri and she couldn't believe her eyes as she saw her daughter wide awake.

"Sa'nu" Liyanin cried after her mother. Neytiri dropped down on her knees, no words could leave her mouth, just tears silently dropping down her cheeks. Liyanin held her arms out to her mother waiting for her to take her into her arms. Neytiri took her daughter away from her husband and held her tight.

"Thank you great mother" She cried out as she stroked her daughter's hair. Not letting her go, afraid she would lose her again. The Sully siblings who had come home from their daily training stopped as they saw their sister in their mothers arms. They couldn't believe she was awake. Liyanin, who had heard them, looked up from her mother's shoulder and saw her siblings with happy faces.

"Teyam" Liyanin cried as she saw her brother and held her arms out for him. Neteyam had tears running down his face as he took his little sister away from his mothers arms. Lo'ak who stood beside his sister who stood beside his brother felt sad that Liyanin didn't seek comfort from him like she used to do when she was smaller.

He had himself to blame, he tried to live up to his father's expectations and he tried to make him proud. But he couldn't do that, he had failed and his father saw him as a burden, that's what he thought and now he had lost his sister because of his actions. But to his surprise Liyanin had brought her arms out and hugged him around his neck. Lo'ak was shocked and he thought that his sister hated him.

"I forgive you Pooh" Lo'ak couldn't help the tears escape his eyes as he had heard the nickname that was only for him. He brought his arms around her and hugged her tight. Neteyam and Kiri smiled at each other. Happy to see them together again and the moment was ruined by the second youngest.

"Now it's my turn" The family couldn't help but laugh at Tuk as she grumbled that it wasn't fair that they all got to hug their sister except her.
Kiri, who had yet to hug her sister, couldn't help but laugh at Tuk.

Liyanin giggled at her sister and gave her a side hug from Lo'ak's arms. Neytiri and Jake smiled at each other, happy that their family was united once again.

"You want to see something amazing?" Lo'ak asks his sister who nodded at him. Before Liyanin had woken up the tulkun had returned and all the siblings had seen them. As Lo'ak carries his sister out of the home he sees her smile, a pure smile he hadn't seen in a long time.

"Wow" Liyanin says as she sees the tulkun jump up and down in the water as they join the Metkayina. "They are so big" Lo'ak couldn't help, but chuckle at his sister. Lo'ak led his sister to the water and before he jumped in he stopped and turned around and faced his sister.

"There is someone who missed you and has threatened me with his teeth" Lo'ak said as he saw Ompin glanced from the water up at Lo'ak with a glare with teeth out. Liyanin looked down and saw her friend.
"Ompin" She gleamed as she jumped on him and hugged his neck. Ompin made happy noises with his mouth as he was reunited with his friend. Liyanin turned around and saw her brother's frightened look and she couldn't help but laugh. "Come on Lo'ak" Liyanin waved him over, but Lo'ak stayed put.

"I'm not sitting on that creature" Ompin rolled his eyes and hissed at him, not wanting him to ride him either. Neteyam walked by and saw the scene and couldn't help but laugh at his brother and the ilu who had a staring contest. Ompin heard Neteyam and called out to him and Lo'ak had his mouth open, he couldn't believe his eyes.
"He likes you" Lo'ak pointed at Neteyam. "But not me" He pointed at himself.

"Yeah because I had shown him he could trust me" Neteyam said and ruffled his brother's hair as he jumped into the water. "Maybe you should try yourself sometime" Neteyam teased his brother. Lo'ak rolled his eyes.

"Hey buddy, do you want me to ride you or him?" Neteyam said and pointed at his brother. As Neteyam did that Ompin hissed at Lo'ak. "Sorry bro the ilu has spoken" Neteyam said as Liyanin laughed at how they acted.

Neteyam connected his queue to Ompin and gestured for Liyanin to jump on. "See you later Lo'ak" Liyanin said and waved at her brother as Neteyam and Liyanin rode out to see the tulkun. Lo'ak joined Tsireya on her ilu as they rode out together.
And as they rode out into the water Neteyam and Liyanin couldn't help but beam at the sight in front of them.

A tulkun rose up from the water and waved its fin at Liyanin. Ompin grumbled, "You are just showing off" Ompin told the tulkun who in turn rolled its eyes. Liyanin blinked, had she heard right or was she imagining it.
"You just want her all to yourself you odd one" The tulkun said and splashed Ompin in the face. Liyanin laughed at them and at Ompin's face. The creatures looked at her and at each other and they both wondered if she had heard them.

"You guys are funny" Liyanin said to them. Their eyes widened, never had a na'vi understood them before like this. Neteyam looked at his sister.
"Who are you talking to?"

"I can hear them Teyam" She had a big smile on her face, not believing her ears, she could hear them. It was her dream to talk with animals. When she was little she thought she was imagining it when she heard voices in the forest.
Neteyam smiled at his sister. He didn't judge her, he was happy for her.
"What are they saying?"
Liyanin lit up like a lightbulb, happy that her brother was interested.
"They are arguing about me" Neteyam laughed out loud.

Liyanin got down from Ompin and swam as or tried to swim closer to the tulkun, who saw her struggle, brought her fin to her so she could take it. Liyanin took a hold of her fin and smiled at her.
"Thank you" Neteyam discounted his queue and joined his sister and they together as the tulkun swam with them. Ompin grumbled and tried to keep up but the tulkun speed up to annoy the ilu and it worked. Liyanin and Neteyam looked at the scene and they couldn't help but laugh.
