Qasim
He made his way into the the hospital room.
She was sitting there in the hospital robe , her hair open, and her eyes full off tears she lookedup at him, and then looked away.
He stood their in silence ,
And then sat down next to her ,
"How do you feel?" He asked
"I'm sorry" she whispered , wiping away her tears.
"I should have listened to you" she sniffled ,
"I-I just"
He could tell how distraught she truly was ,
She looked so young with all her defences down, he reached to tuck her strands behind her ear and she flinched .
She flinched like he was about to strike her.
As if that was the most normal thing to do.
He clenched his jaw , thinking about all the times her flinching had been her reaction when he reached for her .
"I would never touch you to hurt you Rukhsar." He said softly, she looked at him in surprise ,
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked , and her fingers fiddled on the sheets,
She shook her head.
He nodded ,
"The doctor is going to discharge you in a bit." He told her ,
"They're saying that you need to limit your movement as much as you can," he said to her
"I think the smartest decision here is for you to move into my room." He said and she looked at him in surprise,
"Only if you want to ," he said,
"But I think thats the smartest thing to do for the baby" he said .
She looked down at her hands and nodded .
He was about to get up when she held his wrist.
"Qasim" she bit her lip,
He turned around
"Hmm?"
"The baby is going to be fine ? I didn't hurt it did I" she said as a sob made its way to her throat, she was looking desperately in his arms wanting some form of comfort from him.
He reached for her as he brought her in his arms.
"The baby is okay Rukhsar, everything is fine." He said pressing a kiss to her head.
She tightened her arms around him as more tears escaped .
He stroked her hair and her back and she continued crying.
He held her till she calmed down .
She straightened up ,
"Are you mad at me?" She asked , and he shook his head,
"I'm not ," he said ,
"Its okay if you are" she said , and she looked like a child as she said this ,
"Thankyou for the permission" he teased as he placed his forehead on hers,
She looked at him in surprise,
"How are you not angry with me" she asked almost in shock,
He smiled
"Rukhsar, jo hona tha hogya , aur jo ho sakta tha nahi hoya there's nothing to be upset about" he said ,
"So relax okay," he told her .
"Inaya kaha hai?" She asked ,
"Neelum se kaha hai ussay pick karne k liye so dont worry, we'll manage ." He said ,
"Its only another 3 months Rukhsar, sab theek hoga" he told her .
