Paris didn't give much information to the police when they questioned him- just enough so that they would let him go.
Then he went back to the safe house the City Spies were staying at to try to get some information on what had happened.
Monty was sitting in the kitchen on her laptop when Paris came in through the front door.
"Are you alright?" she asked. "I saw in your pictures Erica was driving, and that made me a little worried. I've heard she's not one for obeying traffic signals."
"You know those people?" Paris asked.
"Some of them. That's part of the reason I told you not to get involved."
"How do you know them?"
"I met Catherine early on in my career at MI6. She's the mother of the girl who was driving the bus," Monty said. "She's also one of the most secretive MI6 agents, with most people even within MI6 not knowing her real identity. MI6 has already come around asking if I know what they're all up to since I'm one of the few with any inside knowledge on how this group is operating."
Paris thought about this. "Do you have any idea what they were doing?"
"Not a clue," Monty said. "And since I don't want to take the risk of trying to get in contact, we're just going to have to wait and see. And perhaps avoid the area public transporting in case Erica decides to steal a bus again."
"That's something she would do again?" Paris asked.
"According to her mother, in the past year alone she's stolen a car, robbed an ambulance and the paramedics working on it, stolen a crane and used it to hit a secret service vehicle, worked with her grandfather to steal a boat, damaged the whale in the Smithsonium, stolen from the Statue of Libery's gift shop, stolen a truck, stolen a woman's credit card and racked up thousands of dollars in purchases, and I'm sure done many more illlegal things I haven't been told about."
"How are they still the good guys?" Paris asked.
"It was all just for the sake of a mission," Monty said.
