Damian lazily grabbed his school books out of his locker, hearing his friends talk about their newest crush that week—that seemed to happen a lot in sixth grade, and he just couldn't wrap his head around it.
How could they switch who they liked so easily? How could anyone switch who they liked so easily?
He's liked the same girl since first grade! And here were his friends, basically crushing on half the school.
To be fair, the girls seemed to keep their crushes fairly the same for a couple of months, (since most of the girls at Eden College had crushes on Damian and were very open about it), but that still didn't explain how people changed their feelings! They've known him his entire life, why were they starting to like him now?
Maybe he was the odd one out? Was it not normal to crush on someone for this long??
Damian sighed happily, imagining his special pinkette in his mind: if he was odd for loving Anya, then he wasn't too upset about the label.
"Damian~!" A girl called out, her flirty voice getting the green-haired boy's attention. Damian looked back over his shoulder to see who the voice belonged to, only to see nearly a dozen girls cornering him. Had he seriously been so deep in his thoughts he hadn't noticed them start to swarm around him??
"What class do you have next, Dami?" A girl giggled out, Damian just scrunched his nose at her. "Um... Pre-Algebra? And don't call me 'Dami'." he insisted, but the group of girls just giggled again.
God, these girls' new personalities were confusing.
"Ugh..." Anya groaned as she watched the girls giggle around Damian. Why were they all so interested in him? He was just stupid, and... Really cute, and a bit charming... But an idiot nonetheless!!
...Even though he was the smartest boy in their grade.
Becky giggled, raising an eyebrow at the pinkette—who was glaring at the scene that was Damian attempting (and failing) to escape the flock of women—"Is somebody jealous~?"
Anya gasped dramatically, turning her back to the boy being poorly protected by his goons. "I am not jealous!" She insisted, crossing her arms with a pout. "I'm just surprised why so many beautiful girls are surrounded such a... An... Um..."
"Hottie?"
"Ew!" Anya yelled out, "Absolutely not, I was gonna say doofus." She insisted. Becky just giggled at her, pointing back to the boy nearly being trampled by girls—it seems Ewen and Emile had failed—and their questions. "Well, it looks like you won't have to pretend to not be jealous about that doofus anymore. That Desmond is about to be taken down!"
Anya let out a 'hm' as she looked to where Becky was pointing, seeing the scene of Damian trying to move without being ungentlemanly. The pinkette groaned at the sight, immediately walking up to him and leaving Becky behind. "Where are you going?" The brunette asked, but Anya just kept walking.
"Damian!" She called out, seeing the green-haired boy look back at her with hopeful eyes, a girl hanging onto his shoulder—would she truly save him from this nightmare?—"Master Henderson is looking for you, c'mon."
Damian tried to hide the bright grin on his lips. "Oh!" He said, stepping away from the flock of girls and towards Anya. "Excuse me, I must leave." He said, making the girls fan their faces.
Anya grumbled something under her breath. She grabbed Damian's arm with a death grip, pulling him away from the girls. «Why does he have to act too kind? He's only digging himself into a deeper hole!» She thought.
