Chapter I

Hello my name is Artemis, weird name for an animal that's a male, I know. So, how do I start this?

When I was a young pup, I lost my mother, I've never knew my father since he abandon my mother when she was pregnant with me. We are — what we call wild dogs but for humans its strays. Strays sometime hunt in packs to make it more easier I think. My mother never wanted to be in a pack, thinking it'll be challenging to find food for me and the pack.

Anyways like I said I've lost my mother to a sickness that I still didn't know about, I'll miss her wisdom and her love for me. I have grown from a young pup to a mature dog —I've used my mother skills to hunt and survived as a wild dog.

That is until I was caught by the animal control. Eventually I was rescued by Charlie, he's the chief of police of Forks, Washington and my new owner. Since day one he took me to the police station where I was train to be a K9 police dog for usage in a crime scene, the training methods were hard and critical but some were fun.

I even attack a man's arm one. That was fun at least.

I manage to become the best out of my class that I was taken out in every crime scene, even Charlie had adopted me. I was given a new home where it wasn't infested by rats and get kicked out by the butcher.

The food was warm, the house was warm. Everything just yelled out "Welcome". For once in my life, I felt a home. Oh how I realized I had some awaiting me in the future.

Enough about my life, this is a story of a young Swan who fell in love with something of a supernatural.

It was a cloudy day outside, nothing new here in Forks. Today I'm about to meet Charlie's pup named Bella who's going to live with us here in Forks, I only know from a few of my dog's friends that Charlie's mate had split up with her and took Bella with her to Arizona.

She's sounded like a shy person, it must be hard going back and forth between parents. While for me I just had my mother and now she's gone.

The police car stopped at an airport, "Stay here boy." He told me. I nod my head as I watch him left the car, I pass the time as I watch people go inside and outside with suitcases along with bags in hand. I even saw a tiny dog, I think a Havanese tried to lung at his leash to attack me.

I always chuckle at this, it's always the small ones that's intimidated by the larger ones that they have to prove themself to be bigger than they are.

Then I saw Charlie with a smaller human, this must be a Bella. Her eye locked onto min as she proceeds to sat in the passenger seat (My seat), "You got a dog?" She asked her father.

"Yeah," He answered. "That's Artemis." I let out a bark that made her flinch.

Bella lifted her hand up two inches away from my nose, I knew what that means — I sniff her scent before giving her a lick. She gave my neck a scratch while I lick her nose, managing to get a giggle.

We drove back home, the sound of rain gently pattering on the car. Charlie took notice of Bella's hair that was down to her chest. "Your hair's longer." He noticed

Bella look down as she strokes her hair. "I cut it since the last time I saw you."

Charlie hummed. "Guess it grew out again."

The drive continued on until we reached the house.

The house was sin front of dense woodland, I watch the two humans walk inside while I notice my favorite chew toy which was a hedgehog that can squeak. It was damp in some spots but it's still dry as I head inside via the doggy-door.

I head upstairs where Bella and her father was, "It's a pretty good work lamp." Charlie said. "The sales lady picked out the bed stuff. You like purple, right?" He asked.

"Purple's cool." Bella replied. "Thanks."

Charlie then proceeds to leave the room while Bella sat down on her bed, clutching a prickly plant. I dropped my toy as I walk over to investigate it, but Bella place it on the dresser. Saying that it'll hurt me.

My ears perked at the sound of a truck horn honking, I knew that honk anywhere. I quickly bolted downstairs and out the doggy-door and into my friend Jacob Black's arm after he helped his dad out, "Hey buddy." He laughed as I licked his face before putting me down while I licked his dad's face.

Charlie and Billy talked to one another while Jacob pet my head, then Bella walk outside as she eyed The Blacks. "Bella, you remember Billy Black?" Charlie asked.

"Yeah." She replied. "Wow, you're looking good."

"Well, I'm still dancing." Billy said with a smile. "I'm glad you're finally here. Charlie here hasn't shut up about it since you told him you were coming."

I saw Charlie roll his eyes at that. "All right, keep exaggerating. I'll roll you into the mud."

"After I ram you in the ankles." Billy threaten jokingly as him and Charlie play fought one another like young dogs.

Jacob walks up to Bella. "Hi, I'm Jacob." He inrtoduce himself.

"Hey."

"We used to make mud pies when we were little." He told her.

"Right. No, I remember." She said with a smile. She then look over at her father who's laughing as he continue his play fight with Billy. "Are they always like this?" She asked Jacob.

"It's getting worse with old age." Jacob replied with a chuckle.

The father's walk back with us before Charlie ask his daughter, "So, what do you think?"

"Of what?" She asked.

"Your homecoming present." He gestured to the fading orange pickup truck he had his hand on top of.

"This?" She questioned in astonished.

"Just bought it off Billy here." He replied.

"I totally rebuilt the engine for you." Jacob chimed in.

I could see the excitement in Bella's eyes, I always wonder why people like Bella are so excited by getting a car. "Come on." She breath out a chuckle. "Oh, my gosh! This is perfect. Are you joking me?"

She opens the truck door to only hit it in his face, she apologized as her and Jacob step inside the truck. "I told you she'd love it." Charlie said to Billy. "I'm down with the kids."

"Oh, yeah, dude. You're the bomb." Billy sarcastically said to him.

I bark in agreement.
