"Boys, can I ask you a question?" I ask them. Today we watched a newest member Alex a year old German Shepherd being trained by his trainer.

"Yeah dude," Drake responds. "What is it?"

"Okay, um, heh this is gonna be difficult." I murmur. "You see...you know that I've been...staying at the forest for a few days. Because I...fall in love with a beautiful Husky."

"Ooo Artie found love." Hansen teased.

"Hehe anyways now I'm conflicted." I said.

"Why?" Drake ask.

I paused and think about it, should I tell them?

"Well, it's uh, she's...a wild dog whose father is a leader of her pack. I've been staying with them for almost three month — They've been teaching me how to hunt and survive out there. Since then I've fell in love with her and her pack treated me like I was one of them." Except Rheo.

The boys let out hum, "Well Art." Hanson lay down. "If I fell in love with a female like yours, I'll do what's right for me and my girl."

"But what about—"

"Just do what you think it's best, brother." Drake cuts me off.

I let out a hum; "Okay." All three of us heard a bark, we turn to see Faline trotting toward us. "Hey." I greet and walk towards the fence, "Faline right?"

She chuckles, "My we have a smart dog."

"Well we dogs have good memory." I say with a chuckle.

She giggles, "Come with me?" She ask with a wig of her tail.

"Um, yeah sure." I replied. Looking at the boys who nod their head. "Don't worry, son. We'll take care of Alex for you." I nod and jump over the fence to meet her. She and I trotted into the forest.

"So what are doing at my workplace besides following my scent?" I joked.

She let out a scoff, "What? I can't go anywhere now?"

"N-no what I meant-" I was cut off with a giggle. "Easy. I was joking." She assured. She steps into a river but now stepping in front of me, our noses barely touching.

Until I hear, "What the hells going on here!?" I startled and fall back. Looking to see an English Pointer on the other side of the river, "Wait! This isn't what you think-"

He starts to chuckle, "I was kidding, apologies." He jumps over the river and towards us. "Astarion. At your service." He bows down.

"...Artemis." I replied.

"Lovely name, friend. Does your master study Greek Mythology?" He ask while wagging his tail.

"I'm not sure, I know Bella does sometimes." I respond.

"Well there you have it." Astarion said. "Do me a favor, bud. St-"

"Astarion!" A female voice cried.

"Well shit." Astarion mutter.

In comes another dog, another Great Dane but with a merle coat like Taran, this must be his daughter River.   "You little cheater! You beat me in that race!"

"Well I'm sorry!" He exclaims. "And I thought that Great Danes are fast dogs."

She glare her eyes at me, "Who's the squirt?"

Must everyone make fun of my size?

"River, this is Artemis." Faline spoke up. "Artemis, this is our leader's daughter River."

"Yes, I'm aware of Taran." I spoke.

River's once stoic stature melted into confusion, "Wait. You know my father?" She ask me.

"Yes, Vali introduced me to him." I replied.

"Wow! Holy shit! Nice to meet you, sorry for spooking ya." She apologized.

I let out a scoff, "You didn't scare me. No need to apologize."

"Well that's sweet of you, Artemis. Well, best to head back. Father would like to know where have I gone off to."

"I'll come with you." I offer.

"Wouldn't your Shepherd friends want to know what happens to you?" Faline ask.

I shook my head, "Nah, they trust me to come back." I said.

Astarion chuckles, "Okay then!"

All four of us headed towards the pack.

A/N: Astarion's name originates from me play Baldur's Gate 3 for the second time🤭.
