Tonight officially marked the first party of fifth year, and Lyla was super excited to say at the least.

At least this time she wasn't going alone, she could drag her new friend Blair with her.

Blair got sorted into Slytherin unfortunately, but the girls still hung out every time they could.

Blair was currently using her muggle tool on Lyla's thick locks, making what she called a blowout.

Lyla was doing her own makeup as Blair did her hair, just going for something simple.

After her hair and makeup was one she needed to pick a dress.

"Lyla you have to wear this one!" Blair was digging through Lyla'a closet and grabbed out a red knee length dress, it was right like a corset at the top but flared out at the ends.

It was perhaps Lyla's most expensive dress, she had never worn it before.

Lyla shrugged her shoulders when she saw Blair's pleading look, "I don't know Blair, it might be too fancy?"

Blair giggled slightly, "Please. It'll have Potter fawning over you."

Lyla glared at Blair when she had said this, "You know that Potter and I are nothing." She defends.

Blair just gives her a dumbfounded look, "Sure Lyla." She rolls her eyes while chucking the red dress at Lyla's face.

Lyla had decided to go against her best judgement and wear the red dress, sighing when she looked in the mirror.

Blair chose a tiny black dress, saying it would match her blonde hair perfectly.

Lyla clipped on a long necklace that sat down the middle of her chest, she also tied her curls half up with a black ribbon.

The two girls knew they looked good, and both were smiling in the mirror before they left.

"I wish I was in Gryfindor, then we could hang out all the time!" Blair whines as they make their way to party.

The loud music floods their eardrums as they arrive, they could barely walk through the common room due to the dozens of sweaty bodies dancing everywhere.

"Lyla!" A loud voice beams from across the room, it was Sirius, James and Remus.

Lyla groans upon seeing them but grabs Blair's hand and drags them over there.

James and Sirius frown seeing the blonde girl next to Lyla, Blair just smiles brightly at them.

"We didn't invite Slytherins." Sirius looks her up and down.

Lyla slaps his shoulder annoyed already, "Shut up Sirius, I invited her."

James laughs at the two, "It's fine Padfoot, let's get you two ladies a drink."

James makes some sort of cocktail for Lyla, bringing it to her lips for her.

She widens her eyes in surprise but lets him give her the drink, "Hi James."

He smiles looking down at her, "Hi Lyla."

Blair and Sirius had wandered off, leaving Lyla and James alone.

"This party sucks doesn't it?" James looks around at everyone.

Lyla nods after a moment of looking around, "Yeah it's not the best i've ever been too."

James seems to get an idea, a large smile growing on his face.

Lyla shudders, "I don't like the look of that."

"Time for a little game of spin the bottle!" He yells over the crowd so that everyone could hear him.

Some people gather around a table, and some random 6th year grabbed a glass bottle to use.

Lyla had sat across from James, and to the right of her was Blair.

First Remus had spun, it had landed on Blair. They shared a small kiss, both of them with bright red cheeks.

Then it was Lily and a 6th year Lyla didn't know the name of.

It was James turn to spin, he eagerly spun the bottle fast.

All Lyla could hope for was not me, not me.

Of course knowing her luck, as she watched the glass bottle spin round and round, it pointed directly at her. So center that she couldn't say it was pointing at someone else.

James's eyes and Lyla's eyes looked up at the same moment, making distinct eye contact.

A loud fake gag is heard from beside them, it was Sirius who was walking away, "I can't watch this!"

Lyla rolled her eyes and groaned at him ruining her moment once again, but she tried not to let it bother her.

James leaned across the bottle and moved her hair behind her ear, grabbing her jaw gently with his large hand.

She feels her lips gape slightly, almost begging him to kiss her.

When he kisses her it felt soft yet dominant, he moved his lips against hers like it was the only place they should ever be.

She gently intertwined one of her fingers into his soft brown curls, moaning quietly at how good it felt.

"Okay I think that's enough!" Remus yells feeling uncomfortable watching the two.

They only then seem to realize how many people were watching them, and even James went a little pink.

They jump away from each other, and Lyla finds herself missing his touch.

They don't talk for the rest of the night, and Lyla explores the wonderful feeling of drowning sorrows in fire whiskey.

She wasn't per say sad, she was just confused, and lonely.

"Need company?" A new voice peers into her side.

She glances up to meet a boy she's never seen before. He was tall and had golden blonde hair.

She almost frowned when she saw him, she wanted it to be James.

Lyla curses the fire whiskey for making her think that way, and she tries to make eye contact with the new boy.

"Lyla." She slurs while reaching out a shaky hand.

He laughs and grabs her hand, "Roman."

"Where's James?" Lyla can't help herself from asking, "I want to see James."

Roman seems confused, "James Potter?"

Loud footsteps run over towards the pair, "At your service."

Lyla smiles drunkly when she spots him, "James!" She jumps up and grabs him in a hug, burying herself in his neck.

He grunts at the sudden contact, but he steadies and lets out a loud laugh, "Lyla!" He fakes the same enthusiasm, "You're so drunk."

Roman looks between the two, "Oh you're her boyfriend."

Lyla begins to deny but James cuts her off, "Might as well be."

Lyla slaps his chest playfully knowing he was messing with the boy. Roman quickly walked away with a knowing smile.

"Let's get you out of here." James picks up Lyla bridal style. She smiles softly as he does so.

"Okay James."
