"Are you sure you're okay? what if you pass out from the shock or-"

"Takahashi san... I'm fine, you need to get back to your game... please, everyone's watching and waiting." I quickly said to him as he then looked around as a subtle small tint of pink appeared on his cheeks when realized what I was trying to say.

"O-oh, okay then tell me if you feel anything strange." He said slowly backing away after.

"I don't think that's necessary but sure¿" I bowed as he reciprocated the action back.

"Oh, and you never did tell me your name that day in the sto-" Ran was about to say before getting cut off by Yuji.

"Oi! Go back to the game quickly, you can get her number later Ran!"

His eyes widened and so did mine.

"H-Hey I wasn't-" He tried to protest back to Yuji before I interrupted him.

"Ran- san. I'll tell you my name if you win the game so do your best!" If I wasn't surprised enough by my boldness i'd be surprised by how he remembered me.

It had been so long since the convenience store thing so I wondered how he still remembered our interaction from that day that dated back years ago.

"Well get ready to tell me your name, 'cause we're not gonna lose." He gave me a smirk and ran back to the court finally getting dragged away by his teammates.

Pfft. What a weird guy he is.

So that's how we got here, unfortunately, Cuba had won the second set. Everyone was expecting Nippon to look a little more defeated but it looked like Ran's face of determination had inspired his teammates, as if a fire lit up in him.

Was he really this determined to get my name or was I just delusional that he only looked that determined because he wanted to win?

Nevertheless, everyone felt like it was a neck-and-neck match with both teams being on 14-14 with no deuce.

It was Cuba's turn to serve, everyone felt a little more on edge as they knew how heavy his serves were getting especially in the last set.
