Clark finishes his nightly patrol early and heads home. "Metropolis has been really quiet for a few days. It's starting to get boring but, I guess that's good. The people of Metropolis can live in peace that way." He talks to himself as he flies back to his apartment.

Once he gets near his home, he enters a nearby telephone booth and quickly changes into his everyday civilian clothes. He walks back to his apartment, taking in all the scenery. "I always forget how different this city looks once you walk through it at night. The lights shine so brightly, and it's always so empty." He says, looking around at the empty city streets. He makes it back to his apartment complex and goes up to his apartment. Once he's inside, he flops onto his couch and stares at the ceiling. "Nothing sounds that interesting right now, and I don't need to sleep right now. I can sleep tomorrow." He sighs and ponders the different things he could do so he wouldn't be bored out of his mind. His face lights up as he gets a brilliant idea, "Maybe Bruce is awake! I don't even think that man really sleeps." He chuckles to himself as he dials Bruce's number.

Bruce looks at the security cameras throughout the city as his phone starts ringing. He looks at the caller ID and is surprised but answers. "Hello, Clark. What brings this unexpected call tonight?" He asks into the phone, still watching the cameras.

"Hey, Bruce! I just called because I'm bored. Metropolis has been so peaceful these past few days that I'm getting bored. How's Gotham?"

"Well. I can't say that it's been as uneventful as Metropolis, but tonight has been silent." Bruce sighs into the phone and rubs his eyes.

"Bruce, that's amazing news! You could finally get some well-deserved rest, couldn't you?" Clark asks excitedly. Bruce looks over at the phone and shakes his head,

"No, Clark. I can't finish patrol so early. I'm watching over security cameras in the town for now." Bruce states, making Clark sigh.

"Bruce, let yourself rest. Maybe you'd feel better -"

"I'm hanging up." Bruce cuts off Clark. Clark hurriedly exclaims

"Wait, wait, wait! I get it. Stop nagging you to rest." He sighs, "Can I at least come over? I'm just sooooo bored."

"Do whatever you want, Clark. Just don't expect anything. Maybe I'll be home, maybe I won't. That's the same for being awake, got it?" Bruce harshly speaks into the phone, and Clark hums in agreement. Bruce hangs up the phone, continuing to brood and watch the cameras in peace.
