"Mom, Dad, come on you slowpokes!" Bruce yelled as his Parents followed behind him into the alley that was a shortcut back home. Bruce looks up and sees a man. Bruce doesn't think too much of it until he turns around and sees that he has a gun pointed at his parents. He hides behind a dumpster, unsure of what one does in a situation like this. He hears yelling then gunshots and peaks out from his hiding spot. His parents were laying on the floor, a puddle of blood forming around them "Mom? D-Dad?" Bruce asks in a small and scared voice, looking at his parents as lightning flashes and pouring rain starts.

Bruce blinks and he's in the cemetery where his parents were buried. Alfred hugs him as Bruce sobs into his blazer. "It's okay, Master Bruce. I'm here." Alfred says, holding his own tears back. Bruce sobs and sobs and Alfred suggests they go home before he catches a cold. Bruce shakes his head and looks back at the graves.

"Master Bruce, it wasn't your fault. You couldn't have done anything, you were only eight." Bruce turns to talk back at Alfred and they stood back in the manor, not in the graveyard.

"I could have done something! Anything! If I had just been faster-"

"Master Bruce! You were a child! You still are one. You couldn't have done anything." Alfred places a hand on Bruce's shoulder. The world begins to shake and Bruce looks around.

"What's happening? Why is everything shaking!?" Bruce exclaims as the world shatters like glass and he starts falling into an abyss.

"-uce! Bruce! Hey, wake up!" Bruce shoots up, panting and sweating. He frantically looks around. He hasn't fallen asleep in this room for a long while, so it's unfamiliar to wake up in. He meets Clark's worried eyes and realizes he was having a nightmare. "Bruce, are you okay? You started to sweat and your heartbeat was racing. Were you having a nightmare or something?"

"Yeah, sorry." Bruce sighs and hangs his head. How long has it been since I've had a nightmare like that? He questions himself before running his hands through his hair and taking a deep breath. "Clark, I think it's best if you go. I don't-"

"No way. Not after the way you woke up panicking like that." Clark interrupted Bruce and grabbed his hand, "Bruce, that seemed like one hell of a nightmare. Are you sure that you're okay?" Clark asks, his brows furrowing in concern. Bruce yanks his hand out of Clarks.

"Yeah. I'll be fine. Just...I need some space." Bruce murmured as he got up from the couch. "I'm going to the bathroom." Bruce walked off, his hands in his pockets. Clark watches as Bruce walked off, his heart still beating faster than its normal rate. Clark sits for a second before deciding to follow Bruce to make sure he really was okay.

Bruce walks into the bathroom with Clark following not so far behind. Clark stands outside the door and presses his ear against it, not wanting to use his super hearing in case he heard something. The water turns on and he hears quiet sobbing. Clark's eyes widen and his heart aches. "Bruce..." Clark whispers as he sinks to the floor, clutching his shirt. "Please just talk to me. It'll be okay." Clark leans his head against the door and sits there until the door opens sometime later. Clark falls onto the floor and looks up at Bruce, his eyes still puffy and red.

"Clark? Why are you...on the floor?" Bruce asks as he puts his stone face back on. Clark jumps up and throws his arms around Bruce. Bruce gets startled and tries to push Clark off at first.

"Bruce, I heard you crying. Please...just talk to me." Clark mutters into Bruce's neck and hugs him tighter.

"Clark, I...don't know what to say." Bruce hangs his head and sighs. "I don't think I can talk about it, alright?" Bruce pushes Clark off and walks back to his room.

"Bruce! Hey, don't leave like that!" Clark calls after him. Bruce continues to walk away and Clark watches as he does. Bruce disappears around the corner and Clark leans against the wall and sinks to the floor. "Why, Bruce? Why do you have to push me away?" Clark buries his head into his hands. He tries to keep his composure but, before he knows it, tears are forming in his eyes.

Hi, everyone! This chapter took longer than the first two. I ended up splitting it into two because I felt that it was too long for just one part. I hope you enjoyed it! -p1mp
