"Your parents are so cute. You saw their IG stories?" I turned to look at my friend Kyndall hold up her phone. She's a dancer and we became fast friends on this tour since we're close in age and a handful of the youngest out here. We were currently eating dinner with the crew, which always start in the early afternoon, and tonight's show was in Louisville, Kentucky. The European leg of the tour was insane but the energy now that we're in the states will be better.
I grabbed Kyndall's phone and watched my parents Instagram stories. Today's the day of the Stellar awards and they've been posting behind the scenes clips, but I was surprised to see that Mama performed. I don't know how they convinced her since she just had a baby but she looks amazing.

"Yeah they are cute and I can't believe they got my Mama to perform. That's dope." I gave her phone back and continued eating.
"You gonna go with everybody to the after party tonight?" She asked me.
"Uhhh I don't know. You know I don't like to be caught up in anything." I said.
"I get it but we're on a world tour and we should have fun. We're grown and don't have to act like babies just because we're a few of the youngest. And we're always safe when we go out so there's no need to worry." She said. Kyn did have a point and I can't always be cooped up in my hotel room while everyone else have their fun.
"You right. I just feel like there's always someone clocking my move and feel the need to tell my family what I'm doing. That's why I moved to New York to get some independence but it's worse now that my parents revealed their relationship." I said.
"Yeah but you gotta focus on what makes you happy and live your life. You can't close yourself off to the world because of who's watching. Let 'em watch while you have fun." She said. I laughed and nodded my head.
"You right bestie, I'll go out but you gotta help me find something to wear." I said.
"I gotchu." She said. We finished eating and went our separate ways to get our hair and makeup done. I knew Auntie Chelle was somewhere around here and I always check in with her before things get crazy before showtime.
