Her eyes shot open as oxygen found its way into her lungs again.
She coughed violently as her body smacked roughly onto the ground, the impact knocking the wind out of her. With blurry vision, she heard her friends met the same fate, all of them groaning in pain as they watched the tentacles slither away from them.
Frankie sat up shakily, her unstable limbs causing her to loose her footing, but before she could meet the ground again, arms wrapped from behind around her, holding her up. She leaned her head back into the crook of Steve's neck, holding her chest as she tried to breathe properly after almost being choked to death.
'I don't believe in a higher power, or divine intervention, but that was a miracle.' Robin's, who's voice had gotten even raspier, said. Frankie nodded, slowly peeling herself away from Steve before turning around to asses the damage he had suffered. Slight bruising was beginning to appear around his throat, mimicking hers, Nancy's and Robin's.
The group stood up on shaky legs, getting themselves together. They didn't know what had happened, but they were free and had no idea for how long that would be the case.
'Then we better not waste it.' spoke Nancy, mirroring Frankie's thoughts before cocking her gun. 'Phase four.'
'Flambe.' Robin added, pulling her backpack over her shoulder and taking out one of the Molotv cocktails.
Frankie gently cracked her neck and followed after Nancy, climbing up the stairs leading up to the attic.
Nothing could have prepared her for the sight that awaited her.
The monster that had been terorizing her hometown and her friends, strung up in the air by more of those godforsaken tentacles, eyes closed and arms spread out.
'Is it just me, or does he look a little bit like Jesus?' she asked, voice rough from the choking she had endured. No one reacted to her words, too focused on the task at hand: finally ending this son-of-a-bitch.
Robin lowered her bag to the ground, Steve grabbing the other bottle. Frankie tapped his shoulder and handed him her white lighter, the couple sharing a determined nod.
As Steve lit up the cloth, Frankie felt Nancy grab her arm. She turned around, meeting her friend's concerned gaze.
'Are you okay to scream after that?' Frankie clenched her teeth and nodded. 'As I'll ever be.'
Nancy nodded and together, they watched as Steve launched the bottle at Vecna, hitting him right in the chest. They shielded themselves as the flame engulfed his body, sending a heat wave towards them, his scream rupturing the air.
The tentacles attatched to him began burning, slowly detatching, causing him to fall down and hit the floor hard.
The group of four watched as Vecna stood up, growling in anger. Robin lit the second cocktail, throwing it towards him as he started to approach them, managing to also hit im in the chest.
