If you are here, it means that you have decided to give this great little project of mine a chance, so let me thank you right now and briefly introduce myself and this fanfiction.

I am G, an ordinary girl who is passionate about many things, including, as you may have guessed from the content of this story, Formula 1. A passion that was passed on to me by some of the most important men in my life and which I rediscovered out of necessity: that of focusing on something totally new and distant from me, in order to overcome a bad moment. In fact, if you knew me personally, you would know that I am the most distant person from sport and cheering in existence. Yet, ever since I decided to bring F1 into my life, I have become the biggest fan. Probably because of these very emotional premises, I am also inevitably emotionally attached to the world of motorsport, especially to the characters that populate the circus. As a good Ferrarista, we all know where my fantasies go most of the time, and I couldn't resist sharing some of them, the ones I take refuge in, I must admit, to avoid reality at times or simply to give myself moments of happiness and light-heartedness, which are never enough.I have decided to share this story, born from my vivid imagination, in the hope that it will give you too a few moments of light-heartedness, laughter, anger, disappointment, joy and passion.

Before leaving you to the first chapter, I wanted to tell you a little about the three protagonists of this story, even though you will know two of them more than well. I created these moodboards, of which I am very proud, to better frame them at a glance and I couldn't keep them to myself. I have one last important premise to make: I am not a native English speaker, but an Italian speaker, so you will have to forgive me if I make syntax mistakes or some expressions are not clear in the English translation. However, I invite you to point this out and help me make it as understandable and enjoyable as possible.

Carlos Sainz is the second driver of the most famous racing team in history. Born in Spain, he brings with him all the warmth of his homeland: he is a cheerful, exuberant boy, always ready to celebrate life, but also prone to let his emotions, especially the intense ones, drive him too much. His innate class, money and habits have over time made him a lover of the finer things in life: refined food, travel, golf, billiards, luxury hotels, designer clothes... but he has never lost his head. He likes to be all dressed up and spend a day at the golf club, but would pay a lot more for a pizza on the beach, a couple of beers and his friends, especially when the pressure on him soars during the season. Since joining Ferrari, he and Charles have formed an ever stronger bond, until they have become as inseparable as brothers, the brother he never had. At the beginning of our story, he is at home in Madrid during the summer break, enjoying the calm of the summer and putting the past year behind him.

Charles Leclerc is the red car's first driver. Born in Monaco, he could almost be described as the opposite of his best friend in some ways: despite his overwhelming cheerfulness, he is definitely more reserved and reflective. If the first one is a fire of emotion, he is a solid block of marble that everyone can always count on, whether he wants to or not. Carrying great expectations and responsibilities on his shoulders, he has had to learn to be calculating and (apparently) cold, not to be carried away by impulses. Despite this, he still manages to appear to everyone as always helpful and kind, with a smile that can warm even the coldest of hearts. He never backs down when help is needed. He loves simple things: his music, a soft pullover, a day spent reading while it rains outside or visiting a museum in tranquillity. At the beginning of our story, he is also on holiday. He is in France, at his girlfriend Alexandra's, to spend a few weeks together, trying to stay as far away from the media as possible. He has to admit, though, that he misses Carlos and his energy a little.

Adelia Dellucci is the protagonist of our story, the one you don't know yet. If there were a song that could describe her, it would probably be by Fleetwood Mac, one of her favourite bands. She considers herself an ordinary girl, probably trivial from the outside, but the truth is that everyone who meets her feels a different vibe about her: it might be the fact that she looks like something out of a TV series set in the 60s, her brilliant mind or the way she makes everyone feel at home when they are with her, but she has something special. Always considered the mum of the group, she has a natural tendency for caring, but after an endless series of tragic romances she has vowed never again to put the happiness and serenity of others before her own. Despite being a real party animal, she tends to self-isolate most of the time. You'll find her reading the current book she's taking refuge in, watching some committed film or documentary, some tutorial on how to enact the week's new obsession, playing guitar... stuff like that. She has just graduated in Communication and is finally trying to enjoy a summer holiday after spending the last few years studying. 'Trying' because her rambling thoughts won't leave her alone for a moment, of course. Her best friends, however, ordered her: "when we go to Spain, for ten days you must only think about living in the present". She didn't know whether it was Nilde's threatening gaze or the thought of how much fun she would have with Gioele that convinced her, but she really believed that this time it could really happen.

Well, we have come to the end of this tedious but necessary introduction. You now have a starter kit with which to embark on this journey that will be, I tell you now, messy. Thanks if after this chapter you are still willing to give this story a chance, see you at the next check point.
