(HI EVERYONE. I haven't updated in a while. Sorry for that. As I've said before, I only write when I'm really bored. I don't have writers block or anything, I just do shit when I'm bored. Anyways, I have a question for y'all. It's at the end of this chapter if you wanna check it out.)

"Simon, hey man!" Y/n smiled at him, looking down at their phone and letting out a little hum.
They noticed there was no signal again... strange. But they quickly brushed it off. They had a guest, and it was impolite not to greet them, especially since it's been a while.
"How are you? Haven't heard from you in a week or two!" They said and wrapped an arm around his shoulder.
Simon furrowed his brows... That couldn't be right. He swore he was here at least 3 hours ago. But then again, this whole town left him lost and confused, with no answers.
He played along so he wouldn't seem suspicious to them.
"Yeah. I've been okay." He lied. "Sorry for not visiting..."
Y/n could immediately tell something was up with him. The way he looked, and the way he spoke was an immediate sign.
Still, they didn't wanna push anything. But they made him a small, sweet offer as the two of them walked over to the couch. "Well, you seem tired... Do you wanna-"
"No! No, i... I don't. But... thank you." Simon knew what happened the last time he took a nap at their place.
He woke up and had to go through that whole entire train shit, with that Frankie guy... What even happened to Frankie...?
"Um... Y/n?" Simon spoke up and looked up in their direction. "I... met someone while coming here. I think his name was Frankie..."
"Frankie?"
"Yeah, do you know him?"
Their eyes ran up and down Simon's body, nodding their head and giving a soft furrow of the brow.
"I know A Frankie... Did he... hurt you?"
Simon shook his head at the question.
"Why? Is he dangerous?"
"The one I'm talking about is very dangerous. Surprised he didn't kill you. Was anyone else there?" Y/n didn't seem to notice any wounds on Simon's body, thankfully.
"No, no one. It was just me and him."
"Yeah, that's... peculiar..." Y/n sighed and let him take a seat on the couch. "Anyways, I'm glad you're safe. Want something to eat or drink? You look a little..."
"Ugly?"
They have a chuckle and shook their head. "I said you were cute up close, didn't I?" Simon gave a soft smirk that didn't really reach his eyes, and his head nodded.
"Well... I'll take a drink."
Y/n nodded before reaching into the fridge and grabbing a soda. They walked back over to Simon and handed him the beverage before sitting on the armrest next to him.
"So how have you been, man?" They asked him. Simon only shrugged as a reply, not saying anything else to them. That made their communication much more difficult.
"Well... Alright then." They simply spoke and  nodded. "Umm... hey, dont worry about him. The police are really on this guy's case. They'll find him in no time."
Y/n's words didn't seem to phase Simon. He just looked over at him, and then looked over at his drink again. This worried them a bit. Furrowing their brows, the spoke in a much softer voice, even leaning down a bit.
"You okay?"
Simon immediately snaps out of his trance and looks over at him. He nodded and rubbed the back of his neck.
"I'm sorry. I'm... sorry for not talking, I just..."
"Had a rough week?" They smiled at him.
"Yeah..."
Y/n nodded in understanding, flipping the hood off of his jacket, and petting his dark hair. "It's all good, Simon." They smiled.
"Hey!" The poor boy exclaimed and pulled his hood over his head again.
"Aww, what's wrong? Afraid of some light?" Y/n smiles at Simon and pulled the hood off again.
He grunted and turned away from them. He knew they were teasing, and he wasn't gonna lie, he liked the attention...
"Stop it." He grumbled. Y/n only laughed slightly and shook their head. "Alright, alright... fine~"
Y/n knew they were joking around with him, but he seemed to genuinely need it... He seemed like a sweet guy.
"So, is there anything you wanna do?" They ask, in hopes that maybe they could entertain him somewhat.
Simon sat there in thought for a moment. He couldn't tell if this was reality, and Y/n was the only one who could see him while he was trapped in limbo, or if this was a dream.
Either way... Maybe getting to know this person, this... comforting entity... Wouldn't be such a bad idea.
"Yes, can I... ask some questions...?" He spoke up, a little hesitantly. Y/n gave it a thought before nodding a little. "Sure, why not." They replied and sat down next to him, smiling.
"It'll be like a game, 20 questions or something like that." They said, putting their arm on the back of the sofa. "'Cept I won't... yknow, answer anything creepy you ask."
Simon furrowed his brows and snapped his attention towards them. "Why would I-... You know what? No, never mind. I... don't really care... Do you want me to go first?"
"If you want, sweetie." They teasingly spoke with a shrug. But Simon couldn't help but find comfort in their voice.
"Um... Okay. Well, do you... have any family?" Simon asked, hoping it wouldn't bring out anything bad.
"Oh, I do. I Don't... talk to them anymore though..." They awkwardly spoke and rubbed the back of her neck. "It's definitely for the best."
Simon wanted to poke around and be curious about it, but he didn't want to push into unsafe territories and make them uncomfortable.
"Alright. Um, are you dating someone?" Simon immediately cringed at himself. He didn't think he would be asking a question like this... fucking hell, he should've just shut up...
They giggled softly at his question and shoved his shoulder.
"Hey, I said no creepy questions, you weirdo~" Normally, he would've been upset. But their teasing tone, and their touch... Simon would be lying if he said he didn't want more.
"Sorry. Just don't know what else to ask." Simon smiled somberly to himself. He knew he was going to do something that made him leave this... comfortable world. He wasn't ready for that though.
He wanted to stay here with them, right here. Not in that... shit hole apartment area...
"Its cool, man. Don't beat yourself up about it. Alright, to answer your question... No. Im... not dating anyone. I experimented a lot though, so there's that." Y/n answered in such a chill way. God, he wished he could be like them so badly, and not this emotionally traumatized awkward teen.
"I see... Okay, uh. And now, a less creepy question.." Simon slightly chuckled to try and joke back with them. He just sounded pathetic in the process. God, he hated himself...
He got to learn many things, like their favorite games, favorite shows and movies, drinks, foods, colors. And also more about their personal life.
He tried to stay away from any topics that could open up sore wounds. But he also learned that Y/n didn't have the best relationship with any of their family, and that they still suffered from nightmares, that they've been suffering since they were a child. He could somewhat relate to that...
"Alright, you opened me up and picked me apart. Now I get to do the same for you, right?" Y/n asked, poking Simon's stomach gently. While he laughed, his stomach growled in response.
"Ooh, looks like someone didn't like that..." Y/n smiled jokingly. That made him blush, of embarrassment and... Well, he just seemed to like the way they joke.
"Yeah, im... a little hungry."
"Obviously. Hey, I'll make you something to eat. We can still play the game too."
Y/n got up from the couch. He immediately missed their warmth and touch.
"Okay, so where are you from?" They asked him from the kitchen, which wasn't too far. He could hear them fine, he just preferred them closer...
"I'm from around here. I take walks around when I'm lonely."
"Real sweet that you decided to hang out here!" They smiled, even if he couldn't see it. "You want anything to eat in particular?"
Simon furrowed his brows. "Does that count as one of your twenty questions, or...?"
They gave a soft laugh and shook their head as they rummaged through the cabinets. "I'll make you a BLT." They spoke.
"Okay... Um, t-thank you." Simon wanted to know why they were so nice to him... How they could do it.
"No problem. So anyways, what about you? I know you got your mom at home, but do you have any friends?"
Simon nodded. "Yes... But just one. Her name is Sophie." He said. He didn't say much about it. Him and Sophie were good friends, but that was it, really.
He was the only boy who was nice to her, and she managed to make him feel a little less lonely. That was it. Nothing too special about it... That's what he thought, anyway.
"Sounds cool." Y/n spoke as they let a few strips of bacon sizzle in a pan. "Hope we can be friends!"
Simon quirked a brow at them and asked. "Aren't we already friends?" He asked them. They only pondered for a second before nodding. "Heyy, guess we are! Alright, that's pretty cool."
Simon smiled a little to himself. That intrigued him. Now that he got confirmation they were both friends, he felt himself become a little more relaxed, and much more comfortable than he was before.
Slowly, he was forgetting about that terrible world outside of Y/n's apartment.
"Do you have any dreams? I don't mean like, when you go to sleep, I mean... Yknow, you want a career or a certain future?"
Simon heard their question, and he didn't want to bum them out.
Instead of just answering that he had no hope for his future, he answered in a way where it sounded like, if things had turned out different... that was where he would be.
"Well... I would probably live in a nice place like this. Learn music, and... Maybe play in a band." He shrugged. "I'd be comfortable, happy with what I do..."
Y/n smiled as they began finishing up his sandwich. "Sounds nice. What kind of music do you listen to?" Simon hated that question.
Everyone was a critic, and he knew Y/n would tease him for his music taste.
"Well... Just don't make fun of me, okay? I get enough of that shit." He told them, sort of in a grouchy way.
"When I'm not listening to Deftones or Disturbed, I listen to some Current Joys, Bedroom, things like that..."
Y/n nodded at his... interesting music palette. "Deftones and Current Joys, huh? Pretty cool." They said and plated his sandwich with some chips to go with the side.
They brought the food over and set it down on the coffee table in front of him.
"You seem like the type to listen to that stuff." They nodded, crossing their legs on the sofa.
"Is that a bad thing?"
They gave a soft laugh and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"God, no. You do you, man. I'm not here to stop you." They smiled at him before glancing over into their room.
"Hey, you enjoy your food. I just remembered, I got a little bit of work to do. But then we can hang, alright?" Y/n gave his shoulder a gentle slap before standing up and walking into a different room.
He smiled and nodded to himself. Even if they were gone and couldn't hear him, he muttered a soft 'sure' to himself.
He couldn't help but quickly scarf down his meal. He was so fucking hungry... He swore, he hadn't eaten in at least 3 days. And the way he ate his food, it felt so revitalizing...
It's not like he meant to do it, but Simon couldn't help but neglect his body. But with his constant walking, and being trapped in this place... Food wasn't exactly appetizing.
But then this kind stranger, making him food, allowing them into their home, treating him much more differently than anyone else...
How could he not like them?
As he finished up the rest of his food, he took the plate over to the sink and placed it in. He hasn't heard from Y/n in a bit...
He decided to go check in on them, walking over to the bedroom door...
