"Honk, honk, honk" Karthik swerved through the night traffic between the heavy city rain. He just left the police department and was on his way home. While coming from the airport he saw two kids drenched, shaking outside on the side of the road. Karthik had stopped his car to see why they were out there alone. It turns out the kids had to sell items throughout the day and couldn't or wouldn't go home until they sold the days goods. If they went home with the items and without the money, they were beat by their father. Karthik had given them money and asked them to sit in his car while now he waited for their so father, the kids said he dropped them off on these streets in the morning and picked them up from here in the evening. Today he would meet Karthik, Karthik paced back and forth in the rain while he waited. He was angry, really angry at the thought of such a despicable father who would make their kids beg or sell items in such weather for merely money. The rain fell in thunders over Karthik as if to calm him down but to no avail. When the man came around pushing a handcart with an umbrella, Karthik knew it was him as he looked around for his kids, clearly upset that it took him a few seconds to find them as if him standing in the rain was a hassle but his kids should have no problem doing the same. Karthik confirmed if it was him as he glanced at the kids, the moment they nodded, it took Karthik two steps and one slap before the umbrella flew away and the man was on the ground. Before the man could argue, Karthik landed another slap. "How dare you have your kids stand in the rain and sell things on the road. Aren't you ashamed to call yourself a father, why did you have kids if you couldn't take care of them." He continued yelling at him as he beat him up some more. The man tried to push him away but Karthik was too strong for him as he towered over the now trembling man. Karthik had then called the police and had the man arrested. Karthik went to the police station to finish the remaining formalities and made sure the kids were taken care of, the kids were asked some questions before they were dropped home with their mother. Karthik had to sign some papers and give his information as he filed the complaint and as witness. Karthik was more than happy to oblige, he was content with the idea that the kids could go to school, have an education make something of their lives and not have to sell things like this on the streets anymore.
Karthik was in his car as he turned right into the apartment complex entrance. VRINDAVAN TOWERS. Karthik got out of his car and looked around at the large entrance lit up in gold lights. There was a large double door opening, the valet took his keys and asked what number, Karthik looked at his phone to see his secretary text, "1501" he replied. Karthik had purchased this apartment a week before flying to India. He didn't want to stay in a hotel and asked his secretary to purchase a nice apartment. As Karthik walked in he was greeted by the staff at the desk, the ladies behind the desk stared at him up and down. Half shocked, half impressed. Their eyes trailed Karthik from his wet wavy hair to dark brown eyes, his muscular neck which held his adams apple, one of the girls swallowed a deep breath looking at Karthik. Karthik was drenched in his black suit yet his wet wavy hair looked perfect, he looked perfect, the water shined on Karthik and the girls held the same shine in their eyes as they fangirled over him. "Karthik Uma Shankar" said Karthik in his deep voice as he walked up to them. The girls stood staring until one of them spoke up "oh uh sir, sorry. I believe this is your first time here, I believe the manager has your keys kept aside." "I'll go grab them" said the other girl before she ran in the back and quickly coming back with a pair of keys in her hand "here you go sir" she said with a huge smiled on her face. Karthik was the least affected, he was used to the female attention. Karthik knew he was handsome, he was tall and muscular with broad shoulders, he had dark wavy hair and even darker eyes that still managed to shine when he wished. Normally he was clean shaved but currently kept a light shade of beard, girls ogled at him often but Karthik never gave any girl a second look. He never wished to see a girl twice, he was always lost in his own world, until this morning. Until the face he saw this morning, he wanted to see her again, he didn't know why but there was a weird aching in his heart, he wanted to see that face again, and again and again. He could live the rest of his life just looking at her, it was a wild thought but it was the first time he thought like that about someone. He had a feeling in his heart that he would meet her again, it was as if it was destined to happen and he just knew.
