A/N- The Arabic section is written via Google translate. I apologize if there is anything bad written in there. Right below it, however, is my translation and the version I wrote.
It was a foggy afternoon when the Dark Howler docked at Portsmouth, England. There the sea-weary travelers went to a tavern to socialize with the local townsmen and drink. They walked in on the same scene they had every other evening they spent there. People were already drunk, with both rum and laughter, the minstrels played boisterous music that was heard even above the squaller, and best of all, there was another pirate crew already seated in a corner. Their clothing held the insignia of the Ocean's revenge.
Tobias Huddson, Captain of the Dark Howler, confidently strolled over to them, a smirk playing on his lips. His eyes sparkled with excitement for the day to come. "'Ello there, lads."
The Captain grinned, his eyes shadowed by his tricorn hat. A deep, white scar trailed across his face, starting just above his cheekbone and ending at his jaw.
"Tobias. What brings you to these parts?" His eyes raked over the exhausted crew before him, "Wait. Lemme guess, you've come back from an unsuccessful crusade and need a lead."
Toby's face was priceless, his mouth opening and closing, which reminded Lakia distinctly of a fish. The Captain laughed, his voice surprisingly pleasant. He motioned for them to sit down. Once they were all seated, he began.
"It's said that there's a 'new' treasure to be found, and I figure you're just the crew to find it, " His grin stretched even wider as he looked over at Lakia, "After all, you've got a polyglot. She speaks Arabic?" Tobias nodded. Kia thought it was weird that he asked that. Arabic was her first language, as she was born and raised in Arabia. She also spoke English, Latin, French, and Greek- which they were currently speaking.
"Good, you're gonna need it." He handed Lakia a couple of documents, all looking old and withered, as if they barely survived a voyage on the sea. "A couple of days ago, me and my crew came across a sinkin' ship. We let the crew aboard our ship, and took 'em to their destination. They gave us those papers as payment, and said that they held a map to some treasure. It was later, of course, when I realized that we couldn't read 'em."
Lakia nodded, looking over the documents with Tobias. There was a map, as the Captain had said, but there were also a lot of other papers, which she soon realized were notes. A smile grew on her face, and she turned her attention back to the Captain.
"Thank you for your help, Captain James." Her voice was soft and melodious, but carried with a thick Arabian accent. James nodded.
The day quickly advesparated, and they spent the remainder of the evening with the crew of the Ocean's Revenge, drinking, and sharing tales of their adventures abroad, until the moon reached its highest peak in the sky, proudly signifying that midnight had arrived. That night the crews bunked together at the local inn, the boys sharing a room, the girls sharing the next.
The next morning Lakia started her day as she always had; by waking up. But today was a little bit different. To start with, she awoke surrounded by the female members of both her crew and the ocean's revenge. (which only turned out to be about five, including herself) However, after a quick trip to the lavatory, she stepped back into the bedroom and marveled at how soundly they all slept. Cannons could fire, and they still wouldn't wake.
Lakia was still trying to decide whether or not she should try to find out if they actually did wake up with a gunshot when a knock sounded at the door. It was Tobias and James, who were wondering if anyone was up. But despite the rough pounding on the door, the girls had still not awaken. Lakia rushed to the door, quickly opening it and slipping out.
