Luther showed visible shock, hearing about Victoria's parents. Five, having already known this, just continue to drink his coffee.
"Oh, I'm sorry-"
"Don't be." Victoria waved him off weakly, still regaining her strength. "Not like they'll be missed."
"Right..." Luther then remembered what he wanted to tell Five, he should have done it earlier. "Uh Five, it's about mum." Five was annoyed, he didn't care if his mother killed his dad. It wouldn't change the worlds fate if she did or not.
"God Luther, this again? Who cares if-"
"She's dead."
"What?"
"The uh," Luther clears his throat. "ones who attacked us, Hazel and Cha-Cha, they killed her." Five seems to be processing it. It made sense they would, Grace was designed to be a protector. If she viewed them as a threat, she would have tried protecting his siblings. And she would have been fair game then.
"That's a bummer..." That's all he could say.
"Yeah..."
"Room full of orphans." Five smiled into his mug, missing the jokes Victoria used to make. "Sorry about your mum though."
"It's fine." Five turns to show her his smile. "I'm sure Pogo could fix her up if the damage wasn't too bad." Five then turns to his brother. "Vic still needs to regain her strength, we'll come by later." Five hints, not wanting Victoria to tell him off for being mean again, and so he could be alone with her. Thankfully, with the help of Five's facial expressions, Luther got the hint to leave.
"Oh! Yeah, totally." Luther awkwardly waves them bye, several times, making Five shake his head and sigh.
"What a loser..." Five mumbles into his cup. Unfortunately for him, Victoria heard, but not having enough strength to tell him off, she just settled with pushing his cup up, forcing him to spill it down himself. "I take it you heard that..." Of the many things he missed about Victoria, her correcting his behaviour was the last on the list.
"You're an ass sometimes." She repeated Luther's words.
"Yeah, well. It comes with the family. We're all arseholes." Five stands, grabbing a cloth to soak the hot coffee off of him; his shirt will have a stain though. Victoria found herself staring as Five untuck his shirt, making it easier to dry his skin and dry the shirt, but she couldn't look away, she didn't know why. Five also noticed her looking, his iconic smirk appeared when he did, he made a point of pulling his shirt up more than needed. He had missed having her eyes on him. He missed her. But he knew to control himself. Although Victoria would be his in the future, she wasn't now, but he's hoping to changed that. Slowly though, it took a while during the apocaplyse for them to start dating. Clearing his throat, he drops his shirt, not bothering to tuck it in. "Stare anymore and you'll start drolling Vic."
"How are you so fit?" Five choked a little on his spit. He had forgotten that, when she's recovering from shock, she tends to say anything that comes to mind. She doesn't really think about it; it just comes out. "Did you work out a lot? Is that why Luther is so large?" Five laughed a little, sitting back down on the bed.
"Yeah, something like that." The two made eye contact as he continued. "Our father used to make us train everyday. Teaching us how to use and control our powers, while also teaching us how to fight hand-to-hand. The only day we would get off, was our birthday."
"I guess that makes sense, especially if you were fighting crime." Five could see she was returning to normal. The shine in her eyes starter to reappear. "The only weird thing is the shared birthday. Two is a coincidence. 7? That's weird. Sounds planned."
