Winnie invited Susan over to her house after the bookstore closed as she needs advice what to pack and what not to. Winter is freaking out, she wants to be taken seriously but not too serious as she is still only 19. She storms to her closet where Susan has taken the role of cleaning instead of helping, this makes Winnie smile and remember how grateful she is for Susan. Deep down Winter knows she wishes it was someone else in her apartment though, a tall curly haired man with bright green eyes.
After about three hours Winter feels ready and Susan leaves, with the silence engulfing her apartment. She sits on her couch and opens her blog, she gets new subscribers daily, and she has had to turn her notifaction off due to them distracting her when she is trying to write. She decides to write a short piece on how thankful she is to Harry and what he has done for her, but she cant make it obvious who she is talking about.
She pulls out her journal and starts jotting down dot points slowly making sentances, once she is happy with it she rereads it multpule times. She wishes Harry where there to tell her how beautiful it was or if she needed to change anything but he probably has forgotten about her completley.
'In a world where self-doubt cast a shadow over my every step, i crossed paths with a man whose emerald gaze held unwavering kindness. With gentle words and unwavering beleif, he unveiled the beauty within me that i had long overlooked. Gratitude swelled within my heart, forever indebted to the man with green eyes who illuminated my worth'
Winter hits post on her blog and it immeditly gets alot of attention of people asking who this mysterious green eyed man was, surprisingly alot of people actually said they related to her about a certain green eyed man. This brings joy to Winter as she is not the only person struggling with this. An idea sparks in her head and she decides she will ask her fans what she should do about said green eyed man, but that will be for another day as she leaves tomorrow for the festival.
She wakes up bright and early the next day so she can catch the first train to Cheltenham, she decides to sit at back of the train so she can have some type of peace and queit before the hectic day infront of her. The train starts to move and Winter decides to look out the window, she sees a bunch of people waiting for the next train when she spots a tall man with curly hair.
This immediatly peaks her interest and she focuses on the man, he turns to face the train and their eyes lock for one second. Green on brown. For a second time, Winter can't believe it. She just saw him again, his face didn't even change after looking at her and this makes Winnies stomach drop at the thought he has forgotten about her.
The whole train ride all she can think about is Harry Styles, but whats new? Once the train has stopped Winter is filled with excitment, in 4 hours her work will be on display for thousands of people to see. Usually this would scare the crap out of her but she doesnt mind today, she is ready for peoples critiscm becuase the most important people in her life think she is great. Harry Styles might be on that list, but that is okay, she realises her life shouldnt be revolved around that one man.
Arriving at the convention she sees many famous authors and she makes a mental note to ask for photos or autographs later in the night, when she can blend in as a visitor not a presentor. She is given her section at the front desk and begins to set up al of her best works, including the work Harry loved. Placing it right in the middle.
There is about half an hour until the convention starts so Winter decides to go to a nice cafe she saw on the way into the building. Once she orders her tea she takes out her laptop and decides to upadate her blog with a short poem she wrote months ago.
'In whispers of grace, hearts alight, gratitude blooms, embracing lifes light.'
She chuckles to herself because if the Winter who wrote that poem thought getting her pastry payed for by the man infront of her was grateful she would be astonished to learn where she is right now. Winter takes a moment to take in her surroundings, something she has done quite often lately. She watches as the women wearing a floral dress is staring at the man in brown trousers, how the child is hiding from his little sister, how someones dad is telling another about their accomplishments.
With that last though Winter pauses. She wishes her family could see her now. She grabs out her journal and flips to the front, around the date when her family kicked her out for not wanting to be in the family business. She wishes that she had someone with her other than Susan to be by her side, she has always felt that need to be with someone else after leaving, she just wants to know that loving her isnt impossible.
Winter checks the time and sees the convention is about to start so she slowly packs away her things, smiles at a few passerbys as it starts to finally hit her. Thousands of people are gonna see her work. Not just ordinary people but people who are considered the kings and queens of writing, celebrities that could make or break her.
As she walks through the building doors she notices alot of people are near the far left of all of the set ups, she decides to check out whose work they might be looking at. As she gets closer the set up look clearer and clearer. All these important people are reading her work. She doesnt know how to tell them its hers, she doesnt want to be anonymous anymore, she wants to be seen for her talent and passion. She wants the world to know Winter Thorn.
