Harry wakes up to the sun blaring in his eyes, he looks around unsure of where he is, until the memories of last night come flooding back. He knows that he screwed up bad, worse than he could have imagined. After watching Winter walk away he sat on a bench nearby and cried, he cried himself to sleep on a public bench. He grabs out his phone and sees it is 6am, the first train back to London will be soon and he really needs to speak to winter.
He walks silently, just listenting to his breaths trying to think of things he could say to her. He was shocked how she just came out and said it, she said exactly was Harry was thinking, and he has made her think that he doesn't like her. As these thoughts enter his mind again he feels another lump in his throat, he tries his best to swallow it down as he reaches the train station. After buying his ticket all he can think about is her, whats new? He hopes she got home safe, he hopes she isnt too sad, he hopes to open her blog and find her write some happy poem.
The train arrives and Harry boards, praying that he will be able to figure out what he needs to do to win Winter back. He knows he has the best chance of seeing her at the bookstore, and he could even talk to Susan about what he should do. Just as that though eneters his mind it is cut short by the sound of his phone ringing. He quickly checks who it is, Paige, Harry sighs not wanting to speak to anyone other than Winter.
"Harry where are you? Your interview is in an hour." Paige sounds angry on the other side and Harry really isnt in the mood to talk to some stranger about his album that will ultimatley make its way back to his love life, like they always do. He tells paige something really important has come up and that he can't do it, and to Harry it isnt a lie. Winter is important, and she deserves the best, yesterday Harry didn't give her that.
After looking out of a window with all his thoughts surrounded by one person the train finally arrives at London, Harry is a walk away from the bookstore but he doesnt know if he should go. He knows that he needs to, and if he doesnt do it now, what other chance will he get? Harry knows he must look rough, and by the judgmental looks of the passerbys it confirms it. As he enters the bookstore he is welcomed by warmth and the smell of vanilla, and by just standing at the door his mind and heart are already racing.
"Susan?" Harry calls out, slowly walking more into the store, looking around to mkae sure they would be alone. After awhile Susan pops her head from behind a wall, and smiles at Harry already making him feel safe.
"Harry darling! Winnie isnt here love." Her warm tone and bright personality reminds him of his mum, and the smell of vanilla reminds him of home. Deep down he wishes he could go back home but he knows his managers wouldnt allow it. He smiles at her and takes a seat infront of her, he starts playing with his fingers not sure how to bring up what he wants to.
"Im actually here for you. The thing is...i have srewed up really bad. And i dont know what to say to Winter. Do you think you could help me?" As soon as Harry said the word 'screwed' Susan was sitting infront of him with a frown. He explains to her in deatail what happened last night and what he wants to happen, and he wishes he had a close friend like Susan he could go to for advice all the time. She gives him some great advice, and an amazing pep talk, she tells him to go shower then to come back at 2 since that is when Winter usually shows up.
Once he arrives home, he lets out a breath he didnt know he was holding in. As he gets ready in some casual but nice clothes his mind is racing with every possibility, she could punch him and storm out, tell him to leave her alone, but knowing Winter he knows none of those will happen.. hopefully. He looks at the time 1:58, he has decided to leave at 2 so he doesnt bombard her as soon as she walks through the door, and it also gives him more time to think.
As he leaves his apartment his whole body is trembling, his breathes are shaky and he really hopes everything goes okay. Harry cant remeber a time when he was this nervous for something, maybe the first time he preformed infront of a live audience, but that can not compare to Winter, he has never felt this way for someone he has only techinacly met twice.
He feels so stupid and his brain is telling him to go back and leave her, but his heart is telling him to continue. There is something so magical and special about Winter that he can not physically just 'give up'. Right now that isnt an option, Harry will tell Winter how he feels and then he will let life go its course, even if he doesnt go his way he just wants Winter to be happy.
He is staring at the door of the bookstore, he lets out one last shaky deep breath, before extending his trembling hand to twist the door knob. It slowly opens and his heart and mind are racing so fast he feels like he might collapse, or have a heart attack. Susan looks up from the counter and her eyes flick down a book isle, then she flashes him a big toothy grin. He tries his best to recipocate it but he just needs to see Winter for that to happen.
He slowly makes his way to the window and sees her staring outside watching the world go by, just as he did the first time they met. Suddenly her head snaps up towards him and their eyes connect. Green on brown. He smiles at her but she just looks down, a part of Harry shatters inside, he truly did not mean to hurt her this badly, he knows what he needs to do. As he takes a seat across from her he takes another deep breath.
