When Saturday came, I decided to stay in L.A longer than I thought. I've realized that I've loved spending time with Bailey and it was the same way with her. We call and text every day and we have just started to get really close, like best friends.
We scheduled to meet up later today to hangout again for the third time this week after I had a photo session with a client.During our time together that afternoon, Bailey told me more about her struggling with anxiety in the past and explained how music is her therapy.
"Y/n, am I making sense? Like, does it make sense that when I'm struggling I just think of music before anything else?"
I look at her and smile before replying.
"Of course it makes sense, cause you're looking at someone who does the exact same thing."
She gets excited and hugs me, which makes me feel really good. I enjoy her company and that's what made me stay here in the first place.
(MONDAY)
It reached the end of the weekend without hearing anything from Bailey the rest of Saturday or Sunday. I wasn't too worried cause I know how busy she is right now for her song to be released soon. I tried giving her a call but no answer. I tried again an hour later just to make sure she was ok but still, straight to voicemail. Now I was starting to get worried.
I had a feeling I should go over but then thought "what if she needs space right now?" I guess I was wrong when forty-five minutes later, she's standing at the door of my hotel room and she's crying.
"Oh my god, Bailey! What happened?"
"I was panicking. I'm so nervous for my song release. I don't feel mentally ready and it feels like so many people don't like my music at all. They comment on my posts "just another Tiktok girl making music." She starts sobbing.
The only thing I feel required to do at the given moment to surround Bailey in comfort and reassurance. She's a mess and I can tell. It breaks my heart to see her like this right before "Runner Up" is released to the public in a week.
All of a sudden, I build up the courage to give her a couple words of encouragement.
"Bailey, listen me. I know having millions of followers doesn't have a postive impact. There are going to be people are out there that are trying to ruin your mood and determination. You can;t let yourself beleive them. I know you. You can do this and when that song comes out, I see hundreds of thousands of people encouraging just like I am."
Bailey looks at me and I don't know what to expect. She's just looking at me, sitting in my lap with her hands around my neck from all the comfort hugs. Then here comes something I definitely wasn't expecting.
She leans in closer and kisses me on the cheek.
"Thank you for believing in me y/n, you're truly the best person I could have right now during this time."
She stands up and heads mini fridge in the kitchen. She grabs two cans of root beer and places a cold can in my hand. Bailey sits right nexts me on the couch, cracks open her soda and looks at me, smiling.
"Now, let's cheers to that."
"Cheers to what?" I say in a confused expression.
"To not giving a damn to what people think." Bailey says as she takes a large sip of her drink.
(TUESDAY MORNING)
I wake up in my bed, not really remembering what had happened the night before. I hear a groan behind me which makes me even more confused. I turn around to find a sleeping Bailey underneath the covers.
"Bailey? What are you doing here?"
She lifts up her head and looks at me.
"What do you mean? I got too tired to drive back home so you let me stay at your place. I was gonna sleep on the couch but I wanted cuddles so I came to sleep with you."
"Oh! So nothing, you know, happened?"
Bailey's eyes widen like I have two heads.
"Oh god no. I mean yes I think we're starting to like each other but we're not "there" yet , you know?" She says, while slowly getting out of bed.
I think I'm blushing because it gets really hot all out of no where.
"Yeah.......that makes sense. You know, I'm gonna be honest, I have to go home back to Canada in a couple days. You have become a big part of me while I've been L.A. I just wanted to say thank you." I say before I head to the closet to grab my outfit for the day.
As I'm having my back face Bailey, I see her smile out of the corner of my eye. This was not like any smile. This was the smile.
***Congrats! You've made it til the end of chapter 4! I'm thinking you've enjoyed this story since you've come this far. Stay tuned for more! <3
